Four problems related to tire tread/belt have been reported for the 1996 Toyota T100. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was (a 53 yr old woman) driving alone thru the desert, pulling a travel trailer (2,500 lbs) when the tread suddenly peeled off my front right tire . It was daytime, July, hot and I was going about 60 mph. Luckily I was able to stop with out injury or damage. I immediately replaced all 4 tires because of my distrust of the them. The dot listed is off one of the tires( that I now have as a spare)--I don't have the one that peeled. I asked the tire people to save the best of the 4 for a spare. I am furious that I risked my life on tires that were known as defective. ( dot number: w2hl imo 3 tire size: p23575r15 ).
Defective treads on bridgestone (p235/75r15) tires.
