1 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2022

My problem was associated with the air bag warning light. It came on and so I took my truck to big two Toyota in chandler az. Dealer said I had a faulty clock spring assembly that will prevent the air bag system from functioning properly and was a major safety risk. . . . So I let dealer remove and replace it for $511. 82. This should have been safety recall. . . . Please look into this issue for me and other Toyota Tacoma truck owners. Thank you.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2017

Takata recall. . . Bought this vehicle used two years ago . It has 64000 miles on it and the air bag lite has been on for over three months now, it used to only go on once in a while and never at the dealer. They say there is no recall for my truck at this time.

5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2015

I took my vehicle in for the Toyota's recall for the spiral cable. The failure light was not on. A few months after I got the vehicle back the failure light can on. Toyota said the spiral cable had failed and wanted $700 plus to replace it. I am guessing they did not fix the vibration that was causing the problem so the system failed again. Toyota should have fixed the vibration and left the spiral cable alone. The original cable was not causing a problem. They have refused.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/05/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that the leaf spring fractured with no warning and that there was a punctured hole which damaged the fuel tank. The contact tried for several months before the failure, to schedule a repair and the dealer indicated that they did not have a remedy to fix the vehicle for several months and then the failure occured with no warning. The contact was included in NHTSA campaign id numbers: 14v604000 (suspension), 12v092000 (air bags), 09v388000 (vehicle speed control) and was unable to determine for months when the parts would become available to schedule the recall repairs. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop who replaced the leaf springs because the dealer did not have a permanent fix for the failure. The fuel tank was also replaced by the repair shop. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.

7 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

Srs light is on at all times when vehicle is on. There was no cause, it simply came on. It does not seem to effect the vehicle, however, I am greatly concerned that my vehicles safety features are faulty and may not protect me in the event of a vehicle accident. I have done nothing to correct the issue other than research online and communicate with other owners of the same vehicle. There are many other instances of this problem and I feel there needs to be a safety recall by Toyota.

8 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2010

The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. While driving approximately 40 mph the air bags involuntarily deployed, knocking the driver unconscious and resulting in a single car crash. A police was taken. The driver was reported injured; however, when the ambulance arrive he was not transported to the hospital. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not examined to determine the cause of failure and it was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 32,800.

9 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

2nd time a gas pedal stuck on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma truck leading to a 2nd collision with property damage to my truck & the car in front of me. Coming up to a red light with plenty of room to stop on a flat rd. There where skid marks from my truck and I had both feet on the brake and the engine increased inspeed. The dealer still does not have the parts to repair this problem even after my first accident in June of last year and again in July of this year. Toyota said they would turn it over to there legal dept. And the truck was to be inspected by a engineering firm from the west. The inspection firm was in a hurry to inspect the truck and called in July now they won't return my calls. This firm was hired by Toyota. Also during the repair it was found that the air bag had shorted out and did not deploy. If you have one of Toyota's trucks on the recall list be very careful and don't expect any help from the dealer or Toyota fixing the problem. As I said it is the 2nd time for both items to fail.

10 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2009

I had an accident last August while driving my Toyota Tacoma prerunner. I was slowing down in a turn lane and I could not get the truck to stop which made me continue into oncoming traffic. The damage to my truck was over $8,000. And I do not know the dollar amount cased to the other car but it sustained major to the front of that car. The other car hit me on the driver side near the front wheel and back wheel areas. I did not receive a ticket but I was noted as the cause of the accident. I also ended up in the emergency room . No air bags went off I guess because it did not hit me in the front. I am not sure of the exact day of the accident so I put the 15th of the month. I can get the exact from my insurance company when needed.

11 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2009

Replacement of spiral cable assembly, diagnosis, paper work to take 4 hours to six hours to complete. This was quoted to me by your Toyota dealership ( precision Toyota) in the tucson area. Yet the notification states only 30 minutes is needed to replace.
