1 Wheel Bolts problem

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that after experiencing a flat tire. He attempted to use his lug nut wrench which would not remove the lug nuts as needed. Another vehicle came along and offered some assistance with a larger lug nut wrench. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who advised him that the lug nuts had expanded making it difficult to use the wrench. The vehicle was repaired by the tires being replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. Updated 03/lj the consumer was informed the lug nut wrench was too small. Updated 04/25/11.

2 Wheel Bolts problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2007

While rotating the wheels on my 2006 Tacoma pick up truck the lug stud snapped. I was using a torque wrench and the stud snapped at less than 85 ft-lbs of torque.
