The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer; however, the dealer indicated that they did not have the coating for the repair for months. Nhtsa recall: 14v-604 (leaf springs recall) I attempted to have my leaf springs replaced after receiving a letter from Toyota. Took the vehicle to bayridge Toyota in brooklyn NY to have the work done. Was never told that it would require two visits and the first visit was only for an inspection. Then when I was told the service would take another two weeks in order to get the parts in, I was forced to decline the service to get my vehicle back. I spoke with Toyota representatives and the national people were friendly and responsive and the brooklyn dealership at bayridge made it almost impossible to work with. The Toyota recall letter also never mentions two visits. It only says the service will require two hours. The truck was dropped off for a day and was returned with a list of other things that needed replacing. The dealership never actually wrote down if the leaf springs needed to be replaced, they only listed the extra work they wanted to add on. Also while setting up the appointment with bayridge Toyota they gave the impression the work would be done during the time it was dropped off the the first and only time.

Tacoma leaf springs broken and not supporting vehicle. Damaged and replaced shocks and alignment. Vehicle is unsafe due to recall and possible puncture of fuel tank due to defective leaf springs and can also sever the brake lines. Toyota is aware of voluntary recall but has refused to replace leaf springs even after admitting that the vehicle is not supported as required by leaf springs and that the shocks were overused to the point of failure and were replaced due to the lack of support. New shocks and everything except leaf springs installed yet Tacoma still bottoms out due to lack of proper leaf springs even with new equipment installed. Toyota customer assistance center notified and refused first request and second filed on 8/4/2015 with case number 1508031434 assigned. Level two agent peter again refused to replace know defective parts or honor recall after being informed that parts were available at both riverview Toyota. And earnhardt Toyota, both in mesa arizona. Both dealerships informed me that they are directed by the corporate customer assistance center to not replace any recall items without first getting approval regardless of the known dangers to both person and property, or that the part is broken and does not perform to actions of it's design. Toyota has been made aware of the damages, safety concerns, as well as lost time and costs ($993. 41in service repairs plus 5 lost use/work days to date), yet has refused to honor or abide by the requirements to replace the defective equipment.

I have noticed for several months that the truck has been "bottoming out" when going over a bump with a load. I got under to inspect and noticed a right leaf spring broke and sitting over on the axle. The top part was still connected to the other leaf springs. It broke in the area above the axle. Toyota still has no parts to fix the issue. Somebody needs to get them on the ball to fixing the problem!! what if it had broke and went on the side of the tire, rubbed it and I had a blow out driving.

I was driving down the road heard a loud snap. Truck skipped sideways like I hit a pothole. Found a broken driver side leaf spring. I reported it Toyota they said they didn't know how to fix it. So I went out and had 2 new springs put on for safety. I was then told they would pay me for the repair. Now because they don't kno the "remedy" to repair this. They won't do anything for me.
I brought my truck in for the frame check. They said I was good for a frame spray. They sprayed my truck because I was told it was warrantied. I get my truck back and the spray is all over my garage my driveway my paint and rubs off by driving through snow. I was told some trucks come back after a year with bad frames with this treatment. How are they allowed to cover up such a safety hazard. I should have learned from my last Toyota frame that snapped on me as I was driving. But after there last recall I was thinking something changed. Turns out they made no changes to their frames even after all there issues. So I asked if I was to buy a brand new truck is there a new frame process. . Guess what no change.
My leaf spring snapped while driving down the road. And they still wont do anything for it. Because they don't know how to fix there own problem. Also they won't stand behind the there fake remedy for a frame that is going to break apart. They did on the 2001-2004 because they knew the spray does nothing but make it worse. 04-08 your on your own.

Frame rust. There was a inspection period for rusted frames on this vehicle (and others), I missed the inspection period and am fearful that my truck is potentially dangerous. I think this inspection time period and work should be expanded to protect current owners and others on the roads. Toyota states it is out of their hands and they can do nothing for me, regardless of the safety issue. Please help expand this into a recall or expand the inspection and correction period. Note: actual date of inspection or inspection notice is unknown.

I received a recall about possible rear spring breakage due to pressure corrosion. The description addressed the possibility of a punctured gas tank or damaged brake line. It is now late April of 2015 and according to Toyota's web site they are still trying to figure out how to fix it. When I contact the dealer, all they say is we are powerless until we hear from Toyota. I am concerned that Toyota does not want to figure out a solution. Surely company with Toyota's staff and resources could have come up with something by now.
I have had three separate incidents of leaf springs breaking. It is always the center leaf spring - once on the left and twice on the right. I repaired two springs prior to the recall, and submitted a request for reimbursement to Toyota, which they denied. I just had a third leaf spring break. I use my truck for hauling material on my farm and cannot do so with a broken leaf spring. It is obviously a design problem, and not a corrosion issue as the leaf spring that broke this third time was repaired less than two years ago. It has been four months since the initial recall and Toyota still has no date when replacement parts will be available. When will the ntsb take action to require prompt attention to correcting this problem, including requiring reimbursement for costs associated with this defect?.

I called Toyota in February 2014 to complain of rough riding truck. Was told my truck was out of warranty and nothing Toyota was willing to cover. In October 2014 I called Toyota to report my leaf springs had broke and needed replaced. Was told Toyota would not cover repairs and that I was responsible to pay for the repairs. Shortly after I made the repair, Toyota issued a recall of the leaf springs. I have been battling with them to be reimbused since late 2014. Today while speaking with supervisor on duty at Toyota, luis carrillo, I was informed Toyota knew of the recall in September 2014, so when I called in October 2014, Toyota fraudulently told me they would not cover the costs and I was responsible. This is what is wrong with the world today, nobody does the right thing unless the government makes them. Still today Toyota will not reimburse me for the leaf springs. What can be done to stop them from continuing their fraudulent ways that leaves americans and their family in danger?.
