2 Driveshaft problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2011

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that when the vehicle was being brought to a stop, there was a thump that came from the drive shaft. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the slip joint and the drive shaft bearing support joint were causing the failure. The dealer also stated that this was a known failure, but the manufacturer had not found a correction to the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that the slip joint should not come apart, but it could cause the drive shaft to fail and need to be replaced. The failure mileage was 18,000 and the current mileage was 23,590.
