Interior Rearview Mirror problem

The location of the center rear view mirror on the 2011 (and maybe previous models) of Toyota Tacoma comes in the way of the front view. This is especially true when you are about to make a right turn, the low hanging rear view mirror completely blocks the view and it is really hard to see the pedestrians crossing the street, causing a major safety hazard. The low rear view mirror also becomes problematic, if the road goes down and then up on a right turn curve, as it becomes impossible to see the road ahead due to the location of the mirror. For anyone who is taller than 5'10", this is a major issue, as discussed on several online forums. I am having to constantly duck under the mirror to see the road, and I feel that this is an accident waiting to happen.
