Air conditioner is not working well. Take too long to gets cold and it's sounds like a leaking when the vehicle is turn off. I took it to repair and the evaporator is not working. I have to buy the oem item: evaporator and sensor asm; part 88511-04020.
The Toyota Tacoma air conditioner condenser hose is very easily blocked allowing large amount of water to build up behind the dashboard. (the condenser hose's purpose is to discharge condensation from the air conditioner. ) this creates a fire hazard, the potential for mechanical or electrical failure and the loss of vehicle control. The underlying problem is a design problem. The problem is very common/ frequent and Toyota has known about this problem for a number of years - but fails to accept it is a problem. I have needed to unclog: the hose twice over the last year. Last week, the large build up of water in behind my dashboard resulted in smoke coming into the cabin of my car. After that incident, I took my relatively new car to the dealership; I was told this repair was not covered by the warranty. Again this is a problem caused by a faulty design.
