I have 3 active recalls on this vehicle and Toyota seems unable to supply the parts to fix it. The recalls are for "drive and front passenger seat belt assemblies", "rear leaf spring" and "corrosion-resistant compound application to the vehicle frame". For the seat belt problem, I have made appointments with 2 different Toyota dealers within the last year, have driven 60 miles each way to have it done and have been told when I got there that the parts were on "national backorder". I have also been told by both dealers as well as a Toyota representative that there are no replacement parts for the "leaf spring" problem and that they didn't know when where would be any. As for the last issue, Toyota has put a deadline of 3/31/16 on the recall and based on my experience with Toyota dealers, I doubt that I can find one in my state that will do the work before the deadline. I have already expressed my frustration with both the last dealer and with the Toyota representative. Regards, bruce benoit po box 13 east st. Johnsbury, vt 05838 802-748-9495 benoit218@gmail. Com.

It is hard to pull out and the belt is not tied enough. I did bring to the dealer for recall, but they dont confirm that they fix/replace or not.
Bothe the driver's side and passenger side seat belt have various problems - fraying, jamming, too short, not retracting, not extending. Dealer wants $500 to repair the driver's side alone. This is too much. They should fix it for free or a reasonable price considering nit is faulty and should have been recalled.

My Toyota Tacoma (2008) seatbelts had a recall by Toyota; the 'screws that attach the seat belt pre-tensioner to the seat belt retractor. . . Can become lose over time. . . '; in my Tacoma truck we did the recall repair at the dealership in juneau, alaska in April of 2014. This week the screws did disengage apparently because the seat belt is now loose from the retractor entirely. This renders the seatbelt without a functioning bottom line. This is quite a safety issue. Consequences: I am now unable to state my seatbelt will engage in any way, shape or form, and protect my life in an accidents. Correction: the dealership staff were initially non-committal with regards to the problem being related to the recall of 2014; I went up the line on the phone and now they are offering to inspect it, to 'see if it is'; this is not taking responsibility for a known problem and is dangerous. They need to be much more proactive in monitoring the initial recall trucks to see if the problem repeats over time.

Any time I engage the 4x4 once you making a tight eight er left or right the steering kinda locks on you and if you trying to give some gas to make truck move it stalls I mentioned to Toyota dealership and the guy said a few people complained about the problem but he can't do anything about it. . . . . . This creates a dangerous situation if I'm parked on a tight spot and need to engage my all wheel and I cant move the truck. . . . Or at any situation where I have to make a tight turn. . . . Had 4x4 before and none did this to me. . . . . . I have a Tacoma base 5 speed manual.

Seat belt gets caught in tensioner. Sharp piece in tensioner cuts seat belt. Seat belt does not retract. Fake bumper on front of truck plastic cover gives illusion of real bumper.
Were pulling out and smell of gas filled up the cab, jerking occurred. Experiences of intermittent accerleration had been occurring for a very long time as been made aware of recently. Smell of gas has been overwhelming. Vehicle now parked outside and will not drive until it can be fixed or replaced, have been warned of potential air bag failure in japanese plants found last week in this model. This vehicle is the only car we have, have paid on it for a very long time. I have paid a lot of money to local dealership to keep service up to date, they have been difficult with me even though I have an extended warranty on it. I just had the services done, and had to pay for them, and even though I thought they were doing a good job, my battery died and I pulled the hood open and there was corrosion everywhere on battery and under the hood, I am going to look under the engine and drive train in the morning after looking at this new recall and I will report to Toyota financial services in the morning. At this point I am disgusted with the local dealership, I have purchased my last three Toyotas there and I will not go back there every again, in fact after these past three years of continual recalls and safety hazards, as well as them not being fixed correctly or not being reimbursed for my time or expenses being lost from this vehicle not being repaired correctly when mine and my children's lives are at stake and my client's that I see in clinical therapy, I will never consider purchasing anything from the Toyota cooperation every again.

The dealer stated the parts needed were not available for repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the delay on several occasions. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle had exhibited excessive corrosion on the entire frame which was perforated. The manufacturer deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 30,000.
While stopped in traffic, I was rear-ended by a vehicle. I hit the vehicle in front of me and that vehicle hit the one in front of it. The airbags did not deploy. My passenger's head hit the windshield even though she was wearing a seatbelt (the interior design required me to have the seat positioned quite close to the windshield).
This vehicle has safety recall associated with seat belts. I have been calling the dealer and Toyota to take care of this repair and no one has return my call or respond to my call. I took it in for repair they told me they did not have the parts to do the repair about 2. 5 months ago, I trying to get hold them and they will not return my call.
I bought this truck in March 2014 and I have had nothing but problems with the driver seat belt shredding or fraying and because of that I cant pull the seat belt through to hook it. I also notice the front passenger seat belt is also starting to come apart to. I called Toyota main office and they said they cant do nothing about it. I want Toyota to replace both front seat belts . I have seen a few complaints reguarding the driver seat belt on this web site. . I have had only Toyota cars and trucks forever.
2008 Toyota Tacoma. Consumer writes in regards to distance to dealership for several recall repairs.
My seat belt reminder buzzer does not work, it has not caused any trouble but it could if I forget to buckle up. I have been to two dealers and they say it is working normally.

Went to drive home from work and safety belt on right front passenger side pulled all the way out, will not retract. Have had many issues with the safety belts since buying the truck, such as folding up, not retracting all the way, getting caught, but none as bad as the current issue. Received safety recall notice from Toyota regarding the seat belts in this access cab model, but was informed today by the dealer in placerville that this is not covered under the recall. I firmly believe that the seatbelts on these access cab models are affected by the opening and closing of the rear doors, and have a serious design flaw. Because I need my vehicle for my commute, going to pay for the repair, however, I can only imagine someone dying because of the flaws in the seatbelts in the 2005 Toyota Tacoma access cab model.
Vehicle was stationary and passenger unlocked seat belt to depart vehicle. Passenger seat belt retracted when passenger departed vehicle and seat belt locked in retractor. Seat belt does not retract or extend.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that the driver's seat belt fractured. The contact called centennial Toyota (located on 6551 centennial center blvd, las vegas, nv 89149) who stated that the contact would be charged for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer and the contact would be charged for the repair. The vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 13v337000 (seat belts); however, the failure recurred. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown.
Driver side and middle front seat belts will not latch. I pulled apart the middle latch and it seems the plastic has eroded to failure.
