Wheel nuts breaking. Ref recall 08v080000. Southeast Toyota only. Mine is gulf state with same problem. Had 8 nuts fail. Toyota refuses to fix because it's not a southeast truck.

6 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2008

Vehicle front end vibrates at speeds between 60 and 70 mph. There is sever steering wheel vibration. The front tires are showing wear the out side portion of the tire. The oem tires lasted 15,000 miles. I am now on a new set of tires that are exhibiting the same type of uneven tire wear. 1. Took the car to the dealer a minimum of four times to review the situation. 2. Had an independent automotive repair shop look at the problem. 3. Both the dealer ship and the automotive repair shop agree there is a vibration issue. 4. The dealer claims the issue is with the tire balance. They have "road force balanced the tires". 5. This has not solved the issue and the steering wheel vibration continues to occur. At times the vibration is very sever and other times the vibration is non existent.
