Front seat driver side shield cover has cracked in multiple places and may affect performance of side air bag deployment.
While offloading my truck after getting back from vacation and with all the windows rolled down I noticed smoke coming out of the cab of my truck. Not know what it was or why smoke was coning from the inside of my truck I went to investigate and notice the top of the rear seat was melting and smoking. Absolutely no reason why that material should have started to melt and smoke. Outside temperature at the time was 64 degrees fahrenheit. Only thing that I could think of was the light / reflection of the sun from our upstairs bedroom window. It is just a standard glass window so don't see how that would cause the material to melt, smoke and it absolutely looked like it was about to light up. I have an actual video of it smoking but website will not let me upload it.
Driver-side seat plastic side cover (seat shield) cracked/broke under normal use. Concern about durability and potential safety hazard if seat components fail,I was bring into local Toyota dealer ask for replacement but answer is vehicle is out of warranty (3year /36000mile)I need to pay for it ,which my vehicle is just past warranty about 5month and the mileage is only 25956,I do find out a lot Toyota owners have the same issue.
Since around 35,000 miles, the 10-way power adjustable driver's seat makes a terrible squeaky sound when going over any bumps in the road. If the driver were to move while in the seat, the squeak is present. We have already paid out of pocket (not considered a warranty issue because nothing is "broken"), but the squeak has returned. This is no fault of the dealership, but because of the design that Toyota implemented for just the 10-way power adjustable driver's seat. If we reduce the lumbar support down to its lowest setting, the squeak gets better but it makes the seat that much more uncomfortable. These are the worst seats we've ever had in any vehicle, let alone a Toyota/Lexus product. I do believe the seat structure to have cracked at this point in time. Vehicle is currently in for service.
The seat protective plastic cover is broke with less than 30k miles and light use. It is a known issue but Toyota informed me when I took it in that they are on universal unavailability. They can’t tell me when the part will be back in stock and there are non in the USA. The airbag is also near this and there is concern that it could damage the airbag. Additionally the damaged plastic cuts the seat and is sharp.

My 2022 Tundra seat panel start to fall apart. Front bumper coming out. Door rattle. Windshield distortion makes my visibility can’t see good. Windshield molding coming loose. The tires keep loosing air pressure and Toyota refuse to add more air pressure . Radio keep getting disconnected from my bluetooth . I have all video and evidence showing all this defected happen but Toyota will not fix under warranty. Toyota stated they will not fix the problem due to truck still working order running fine.
Driver's seat appears to have some play in it where when accelerating or coming to a stop, the seat bottom will move forward and/or backwards. This has continued to happen and after repeated attempts to have the dealer resolve it, they have basically told me it was designed that way. We've never had another Toyota product do this. We do understand there are certain specifications needed to meet safety requirements, but we've sat and driven in other models of the same specifications and their seats do not do this.
The driver side front seat side shield panel cracked two months after vehicle was purchased new. It was replaced under warranty at the Toyota dealership. It cracked again three months later and was replaced again by the Toyota dealership. About 3-4 months later, it cracked again and was replaced by the Toyota dealership. This was on 04-21-23. On June 29, 2023, it cracked again for the fourth time. Dealership so far has not agreed to replace it under warranty and we are pursuing warranty claim with Toyota headquarters. I have owned 5 Toyota trucks and never have had this problem. When the front seat side shield panel cracks, it is a plastic part inside that is breaking. It is probably occurring when entering and exiting the vehicle possibly sliding across the side edge of the seat. There are several of the same problems with the seat posted on the internet for this truck. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by Toyota. It creates a safety hazard as you cannot operate the seat properly when it is broken.
I actually have too very serious issues with my new Tundra. 1) my seat is coming loose from floor of my truck every time I take a corner it feels like it's going to tip over and makes a loud clunk and it feels like the back of the seat is separating from the part where my rear end sits (aka my butt) 2) when it rains the water flows off of the hood and then I am assuming the fan that goes to radiator spits a blast of water right in my driver's side of windshield, this because the poor design of the grill on certain 22 Tundra limited models. Very dangerous if you ask me or anybody else that has this problem which is quite a few people from what I have seen on 2022 Tundra forums. Those are just 2 major issues of the many I have.
