Premature tire wear. Outside of tire on front wearing faster than inside. Had a realignment and also put on new tires. Same issue is happening.
Acceleration lag/hesitation, we are in the intersection fully stop yield before we go left. Step on the pedal to go the truck go a little bit then suddenly lose power for a seconds and try to accelerate again just go. The car behind us almost hit me.
While driving my 2022 Tundra my reverse indicator light and back up camera began flashing while approaching an intersection. I stopped at the intersection to wait for the green light for a left turn onto the highway. I shifted into park and then back into drive but reverse indicator and camera kept flashing. After completing my left turn and accelerating to approximately 40 mph I heard a loud bang and my rear wheels locked causing me to slide sideways narrowly missing other vehicles next to me. After a second the wheels started spinning normally. The reverse indicator and camera continued flashing. After slowing I turned my hazard lights on and slowly drove the vehicle directly to the Toyota dealership. I told them what happened and provided a video of the flashing light and screen. I told them that the truck was no longer safe to drive and that I was fortunate that I didn’t cause an accident. They ran diagnostics on the vehicle which had many error codes for various modules. They have cleared the codes and are requesting that I take the vehicle back. They reported that they could not replicate and no repairs were made. I don’t think the vehicle is safe to drive with the possibility of it happening again in a more dangerous location at speed or with my family in the vehicle.
Hesitation/lag acceleration and stop.
When I came to a stop, everything seemed normal, but when I went to take off again the truck just… didn’t go. I pressed the gas and it kind of sat there, like it was thinking about moving but not actually doing it. The engine stayed running, no sputtering or dying, but it wouldn’t engage. It took a solid 10–20 seconds before it finally decided to move forward, and even then it felt hesitant. The whole thing was weird and definitely not how it should behave.
When pressing the gas pedal, there multiple times where my vehicle has lag time in acceleration, which can lead to a delay of getting on the road and potentially causing an accident. There have been no manufacturer warnings and no warning lamps illuminate when this occurs.
Truck fails to accelerate from a stop. This is an intermittent issue. Dealer failed to duplicate.
Vehicle occasionally experiences throttle hesitation. This generally happens from a stop when starting to initiate the throttle. This issue has nearly caused an accident.
Very often when I go to press on the gas, there is a noticeable lag before my truck goes. When there is oncoming traffic it is to a point where I do not try to go in case it lags and could be dangerous. This seems to be a common problem when I talk to other owners of the same model truck.
I am experiencing throttle lag / hesitation when starting from a rolling stop and/ or complete stop. It doesn’t happen all the time, but does it sometimes and I have had to drastically change my driving habits.
The headliner in the truck is falling down. It appears that this is happening to a lot of them due to some faulty velcro. Seam to ve a pretty wide spread issue and is definitely a sadety concern if this happens while driving.
Front active spoiler malfunction last week I took the vehicle into Toyota due to this malfunction message on the vehicle. The spoiler failed and remained in the down position, unknowingly causing additional damage to the spoiler flap. It was determined that the motor assembly was not working and needed to be replaced. The motor, flap and related assemblies were replaced under warranty by the dealership on 07/17/2025. Within 2 days, the spoiler was stuck in the down position again, this time without the malfunction message on the vehicle. With this being stuck in the down position, it can potentially cause more damage to the vehicle being in the down position and lead to debris in the roadway depending on the damage. Toyota manual states to avoid driving the vehicle at high speeds when this issue is present. However, owners with this issue would not know there is an issue if the vehicle is not presenting an error while functioning improperly. The vehicle is scheduled to be looked at again tomorrow 07/22/2025, at corwin Toyota of colorado springs.
When attempting to move forward from a stop, there is a momentary delay in the truck responding to stepping on the accelerator pedal. This is a real safety concern when attempting to pull into traffic, as the "dead spot" in the pedal occurs after the truck has already moved forward a few feet, leaving the front end of the truck out in the traffic lane. It appears to be related to the automatic transmission starting in 4th gear, as I can move the shift lever to manual shifting mode and start out in 2nd gear with no hesitation. Once moving I simply move back to drive mode. This has been an ongoing concern, reported from the first service (10k) on my truck, which now has 45k miles. I received the remedy engine at 37k miles under the safety recall. Toyota seems to be aware of the issue, as they flashed the tcm once, which seemed to help briefly, however the problem quickly returned. I am not the only Tundra owner reporting this issue.
Transmission or engine has a lag, or dead spot from a complete stop to acceleration, such as leaving a stop light. At times barely noticable, other times it seems the engine is going to die. Dangerous when pulling onto a busy street from a side street. Dealership says "unable to replicate" which is understandable, as it's somewhat intermittent. This appears to be with all model year 2022 and newer Toyota Tundras.
My vehicle experiences throttle lag/hesitation from a stop or rolling start. The issue is intermittent and the delay can vary on how long untill the vehicle goes.
Hesitation at acceleration. Especially from start.
What component failed and is it available for inspection? the front driver-side roof seam on my 2022 Toyota Tundra developed corrosion under the paint and eventually opened enough for rainwater to enter the cabin. Water drips directly into the a-pillar area onto the side curtain airbag wiring, squib connector, and padded harness. It also reaches the dashboard and electrical buttons near the steering wheel during rain. The roof seam, a-pillar wiring, interior rust staining, and all affected components remain available for inspection. How was safety put at risk? the a-pillar contains the srs curtain airbag system, its wiring, and connectors that should never be exposed to moisture. Continuous water intrusion over many months can cause corrosion, increased resistance, short circuits, or damage to the airbag inflator/squib circuit, which may lead to unintended deployment or failure to deploy in a crash. Water reaching the dashboard controls and electrical switches could cause intermittent electrical faults or malfunction of driver controls. These issues present a significant safety risk because the vehicle’s airbag and electrical systems may not function as designed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? yes. The Toyota dealer has repeatedly observed the active leak, interior rust streaks, and bubbling/corrosion along the roof seam. The water intrusion occurs every time it rains. Has the vehicle been inspected? yes. Toyota has inspected the truck multiple times, including by a field technical specialist. However, Toyota has been unable to provide complete documentation or photos from the fts inspection, and the underlying safety issue remains unresolved. No inspections have been done by police or insurance. Warning lamps or messages? no warning lamps appeared. The first symptom was water leaking into the cabin around March 2024, followed by rust streaking inside the a-pillar and exterior bubbling. The issue continues during rainfall.
Acceleration hesitation and lag especially in 1st gear.
The fuel gauge sometimes does not read properly. It's happened a few times where the gauge reads inaccurate.
The vehicle has a delay in the throttle in some situations immediately following a deceleration. For example, when braking onto a yielding on ramp to check for traffic while coming to a near stop then pressing the throttle there is an obvious lag. That second or so of lag often results in the tires spinning due to a spike in throttle. In more than one instance I've experienced it from a dead stop but this is not as common as a slow deceleration to a roll.
Vehicle has experienced several times a severe hesitation from both complete stop and rolling stop. Seems as though it is stalling. Then will accelerate.
I have a 2022 Tundra with 18,700 miles on it that is part of the recall for a new engine! this is my fourth Tundra, and the materials used in the 3rd gen are sub-par to say the least! I have already had to replace the actuator and motor in my passenger window because it was stuck halfway open/closed and it took the dealership almost 2 weeks just to get the parts and put them in. My tailgate isn't aligned properly and the mold growth on all the rubber window trim is a nightmare as well as the roof wells that are also covered in mold up and down both sides. My rear passenger door doesn't close correctly and nobody at Toyota knows how to fix any of these issues! I am very concerned about a dealership putting a new engine in my truck when they can't even change the oil or rotate my tires correctly. I also have other serious issues like, I feel a giant thud like somebody rear ended me when I step on the gas from a red light or stop sign and sometimes when I step on the gas on the highway and it scares the heck out of me. It almost feels like the back of my truck fell off. When it's raining out and my hood is covered in water and then the rain stops and I turn my windshieldwipers off, the water that rolls down the hood is spit straight into my windshield from the radiator fan! I also took it to the dealership to fix the fuel line recall, and they said they don't have the parts available, it's been over 2 weeks now and the recall was issued last year.
Took in truck for limited service campaign. Toyota understood toe angle sett premature wear on outside shoulders of the tires. Authorized Toyota dealer adjusted front wheel ali based on Toyota s inspection criteria, replaced two tires and completed alignment. Alignment failed to resolve problem. After 10k miles similar wear is present. Reached out to dealership and they declined further assistance.
I did a software update when it pops up on my lcd screen. Then the screen turns black and multiple sensors came on. Lta sensor brake fail sensor crash senor and more. I look online and found out it has a apple car play issue that cause sensor to malfunction. I don't know if my truck is safe to drive. Afraid the airbag will blow up because of the crash sensor popping up and the failure brake senor also popping up. I took it took my local Toyota dealer sandia Toyota they didn't even look at it and made false accusations and try to charge me when my truck at 20000 miles. I took it to another dealer to get it fix. The incident started 4/6/2024 and today is 4/23/24 and I still have no truck to drive. I paid 70k for it but more concern for other. Please look into this issue making sure it safe for me and other.
My 2022 Tundra seat panel start to fall apart. Front bumper coming out. Door rattle. Windshield distortion makes my visibility can’t see good. Windshield molding coming loose. The tires keep loosing air pressure and Toyota refuse to add more air pressure . Radio keep getting disconnected from my bluetooth . I have all video and evidence showing all this defected happen but Toyota will not fix under warranty. Toyota stated they will not fix the problem due to truck still working order running fine.
The cover on the passenger side mirror has a cover with a camera attached that keeps flying off on highways. Last time it came detached from the vehicle and tripped my collision control sending my vehicle into an emergency stop for no reason. I had no warning that this was going to come off nor should I expect body panels to fly off my vehicle. I have expressed this to Toyota and showed evidence of this being a well documented issue with other customers and they are still denying responsibility for this. My vehicle has never been in an accident and this part has never been tampered with. The dealer even feels this is a quality issue with Toyota and tried to help and was unsuccessful.
The sunroof exploded and shattered while driving at a mere speed of 45mph. Four kids in the car and luckily I had the cover that was still closed or it could’ve been disastrous.
None.
Driving down interstate at approximately 75 mph when I heard a loud explosion similar to a gun shot. The sun shade began shaking in my head liner. Once I regained my composure I was able to stop on the side of the interstate and inspect the roof from the outside. The whole middle section of the sunroof has exploded upwards and out of my vehicle.
My vehicle was parked next to a fire hydrant and when I returned to the vehicle none of the warning cameras or alerts was able to pick up the object. There seems to be a glitch when the vehicle is turned completely off and then restarted with a small object in the blind spot.
Had been driving for 35 miles on 70mph freeway when dash lights illuminated stating the parking break would not disengage. This truck has an electronic parking break that was not engaged. Truck then said it was going into reduced power mode and shut off acceleration over approx. 5 mph. I later read the alerts in the Toyota app and it stated “ a malfunction in the electronic control of engine” and a “malfunction in the intelligent control system”. I nearly got rear ended by multiple semis since I had no power. Took truck to dealership but because the “they couldn’t recreate the issue”, they gave the truck back. This is a huge safety issue with these trucks and Toyota needs to do something about it. It appears to be a common issue with the turbos in this new engine.
After one year of ownership. Toyota decided to remove navigation from my display. No longer showing maps. I have to pay 15$ a month to get it back. Also included is remote start. So after buying those things. Toyota can take it away? I don’t feel safe driving around areas without proper guidance.

This message keeps popping up randomly (parking support malfunction see your dealer) the infotainment keeps restarting its self randomly both of these have happened more than 20times in the last 2weeks took it to the dealership they said there’s nothing they can do if they can’t duplicate the problem my truck has 20,514 miles all recalls have been done I drive a lot so the 16,000 before my standard 36 month warranty will be up soon the truck was looked at on 01/25/2023 I have video of the radio but can’t upload it.
Lots of lag when starting from a stop, a good 3-4 seconds after pressing the gas pedal, the truck will lunge forward. This is concerning when pulling out into traffic. Took to the dealer and they said "yes, we know about it, there is no fix for the delay". This is very unsafe.
