The contact then observed that the tailgate of the vehicle was open and had struck the garage door. The contact closed the tailgate, and the tailgate remained closed. On another occasion, after entering the garage, the tailgate inadvertently opened overnight while parked. The tailgate was then closed and remained closed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,800.
