During rolling bumper to bumper traffic, heard a loud pop from the front end. Afterwards the front end kept making a odd grind sound when I put on the brakes or went over a slight bump. Took some time to figure out that one of the bolts that holds the passenger side a-arm was gone, looks like the bolt head just sheared off so now all the weight that was carried by 3 bolts is being managed by 2. I had just got off the highway too, glad that did not pop at 65 mph.
Was driving approximately 110 km/hr this morning on a major highway when my driver side front window blew out. I heard a loud boom and the window popped. It shattered into a million pieces and alot of it in my car all over me. I was in the slow lane and there was nothing next to me or passing me. The driver some distance behind me pulled over when I did to see if I was okay as he saw glass flying. I called the dealship and of course they blame it on a rock or something. My question is how does a rock hit my window when there is no traffic in front of me or passing me??? I now have it at a window repair shop and $300. 00 later!!.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Yaris. The contact stated he heard a noise while driving various speeds over bumpy road surfaces. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed the front cradle bolt on the passenger side was severed. The contact was also told the driver's side cradle bolt was corroding and the vehicle was not safe to drive. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 43,000 and the current mileage was 43,500. Updated 6/8/11.
Passenger side of vehicle has a leak when the air conditioner is used. Took to the dealer and was charged approximately $200 to fix said problem. Less than a month later the issue is happening again. Seems to be more than one issue of this occuring.
