The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Yaris. While depressing the brake pedal at 35 mph, the vehicle failed to respond and the abs warning light illuminated. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a concussion and upper back pain that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed; however, the body damage was repaired. In addition, the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v168000 (air bags) and 14v169000 (seats). The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.
