Brake assist failed at time of accident, it never came on. It does come on sometimes in the past when it shouldn’t. I was breaking because a car came to a complete stop in front of me, there was no warning and despite my best effort to brake the car still made contact with other car in front of me. I have not yet taken the car to a dealer. The car has not been inspected. No warning lights. However, in the past the car would stop randomly for no reason. Also it has a hesitation when you hit the gas.

Car driving with no one in front and brake assist went off on own. Also car driving and electrical system in car shut down and lost control of car. Then all dashboard lights came on, was able to regain control and pull in parking lot. Shut car off. Hooked up odb. No codes. Then started car and ran fine. Had burning electrical smell.

My wife was in town driving about 10 mile an hour just pulled away from stop sign, when her drivers side rear tire broke off. We loaded it on a trailer and brought it home. The axel beam had completely rusted in two now Toyota is tell me its 1600 dollar for a new one. I think since they she could have been killed her they could fix her car.
