My 2009 Toyota Yaris needs to be placed upon the recent recalls with Toyota. My accelerator pedal is beginning to get harder to push down, my brakes are mushy and are sometimes hard to stop the vehicle, when I have my defrosters on, the car wants to keep going and braking is harder. My radio randomly switches to am radio when its off, or on a different station. This all sounds electrical, and I have taken it to the dealer twice and been told no problems. I have an appointment next week to have it looked at again. I just wanted to inform someone that the 2009 Toyota Yaris' have problems and need to be looked at.

Was traveling on constantine drive on my way to beach blvd in huntington beach. I was going approximately 15 mph, I had glanced down to look at my navigation system I noticed that I was close to a parked car and put on my brakes. I ended up striking the left tail light of a parked 2010 - blue - Ford element. The point of impact was my right front taillight. My car flipped over in one fell swoop and landed upside down. Eyewitnesses to the crash believe that a gust of wind caused the car to flip over. The police who arrived on the scene shortly thereafter could not find a justification for what had occurred at the low rate of speed that I was traveling. Even though the car flipped upside down the air bags did not deploy.
Every morning winter or summer, I have to wait for my car to warm up in order to drive it up the road if I want to go more than 25 mph. The transmission does not want to go out of first gear until the car is at a certain temp. I can't go up a road that is 35-45 mph if I just started my car, otherwise there would be alot of upset people behind me because I can't go fast until the car warms up. The dealer tells me that is common for any Toyota car as they make them that way to ensure they last as long as they do. You should never just get in your car and go. It needs to warm up and get fluids to the proper temperature. Is this a crock because I see other complaints and no one has mentioned that the dealer says this car should act this way and this is normal?.

I've had my 2007 Toyota Yaris for about a year now, in the mornings when the car is cold the transmission doesn't shift properly, when the weather is cold its worse, the other problems is that the car wobbles when im driving slow, an when I drive faster it starts to shakes, an when I run the ac the engine shakes real bad, the dealership when I bought the car is giving me the run around.
The vehicle does not shift correctly when going from 10 to 45 mph. The automatic transmission will not shift correctly to the next gear. It seems to happen more when it is just starting off in the morning rather than after it warms up.
Acceleration between 20-45 miles per hour was "jumpy" and "un smooth" on a brand new 2007 automatic sedan Toyota Yaris. This started a week after a routine oil change and inspection was done. The car was bought with 11 miles on it and by 6,400 it needed a new transmission. I can't believe I had a brand new car for less than three months and it had a faulty transmission. I smell lemons.
