I would like to point out that both driver and police officer safety may be improved if all vehicle designers and manufacturers were to disrupt the convention of locating caches for the drivers vehicle registration information at or below driver shoulder height. It may be a fairly inconsequential to implement a design standard so that the paper copy of a drivers registration and insurance would be neatly and preferentially stored at a height relativistic of the drivers shoulders so that every driver would naturally move through the motion of raising their hands into the air to retrieve requested registration information.
This 2020 Yaris is registered to me but driven by my daughter to her workplace less that 3 miles away. The first incident involved the engine laboring to start and when she came home, the battery was dead. I was able to re-charge the battery at home but 2 days later, the car would not start at home. I have an auto engine scanner that registered a p2610 code stating "an engine control module, ecm/pcm engine off timer performance". The battery had been completely drained of its liquid. This is a safety hazard that could have stranded my daughter as she sometimes drives to houston which is about 30 miles away. I researched this code and found that the NHTSA has previously issued notices on these problems. We need help getting it resolved. Car is available for inspection.

The car malfunction issue that is being reported is for the 2011 Toyota Yaris gearshift and yes it is available upon request. The safety of small children were at risk when the vehicle was turned off no key in the ignition and no pressure on the break but the gear was pulled it shifted into neutral and completed an accelerated roll away with a small child inside. Not as of yet, has this vehicle been inspected by an independent service center. Vehicle has been inspected by other individuals and insurance reps. No warning lights visible because keys were never in vehicle or in vehicle ignition.

I was at a stop light waiting for a left turn. There was a truck in front of me. The light turned green. The truck drove forward and was beginning to turn. There was a car space between me and the truck. I accelerated to turn and within a few seconds I felt the anti lock brakes activate, car stopped the engine shut off. I had to put the car in park and restart the engine. Its a good thing there wasnt a car behind me.
This morning (11/19/2020) at approximately 4:50am I turned on my car and sat in the driveway to let it warm up. Usually while it warms up I get my bluetooth connected and get my music going, but this time it wouldn't connect. I figured my husband had been playing around with the settings again so I had him come outside to look at it. It still wouldn't even bring up our phones so I shut the car off, waited maybe 30 seconds and turned it back on. This time it brought up our phones but still wouldn't connect and a message popped up on the screen saying "unable to connect- unknown error". At this point I said forget it, I've got to get to work. I put the car in reverse and immediately noticed that the back-up camera wasn't working. Figured I've already got an appointment with Toyota in the morning so I'll bring that to their attention as well. Before I made it out of town I started smelling a faint burning wire smell again. Every time I mentioned it to my husband he'd say he couldn't smell it so I thought maybe I was imagining it. Finally made it to the highway well on my way to work and decided to try the cruise control. Got to the speed limit, turned it on, drove for a few, got paranoid about deer and decided to turn it off. It did not turn off. I pressed the off button and it accelerated. Tried the off button again and again it accelerated. Tried the down button, accelerated again. Thought maybe there's a crossed wire so I tried the up button, you guessed it. Started going faster. It allowed me to break and stop so I pulled over and turned off the car for a few minutes. When I turned it back on everything was functional and was still functioning as expected after work. To be clear, I did not try the cruise control again.
I have a 2020 Toyota Yaris with 3500 miles that has an intense and repeated vibration problem that started appearing 9 months after I bought the car new. When I come fully to a stop, sometimes the car will vibrate intensely like a massage chair. The vibration can be felt throughout - in seats, steering wheel, dash, brake pedal, even the doors and windows. The vibration is so intense it can be visually seen. When I look under the hood, the engine is shaking intensely. However, the problem only happens in drive/reverse and when stopped. If the car is in park/neutral, or when the car is moving, it does not vibrate. The vibration comes back when put back into drive/reverse. The vibration only happens once the car is warm. Car vibrates at 500 rpm. When rpm goes up to 600 or more, it stops vibrating. It also stops vibrating if the a/c compressor is turned on (rpms rising). An independent mechanic diagnosed the problem to be a low idle because idle rpms were too low (not a rough idle). I went to the Toyota dealership 4 times to fix the problem. They were able to replicate the problem and film it happening but were not able to fix it. The dealership has checked other cars for the problem; they first told me that my Yaris is the only one with that problem, then they changed their statement and said "3 other Yaris at other dealerships also had that problem, but it is like 3 out of 30,000 Yaris". This means that the vibration problem is not normal for this car and a few of these cars are defective (with mine being one of them). I went to the dealership 4 separate times regarding this issue but they refused or gave me an excuse, said they couldn't fix it, couldn't replicate the problem, etc. My car only has 3,500 miles and this is unacceptable for a new car. Toyota should acknowledge this problem and find an effective remedy, take this car back, or compensate the owner.
I got new tires and took the car for an alignment. I am constantly having to slightly correct my steering wheel. One to three degrees to the left and right at any speed the entire time I am driving. It was setup for the diagnostic test and the technician came back in less than five minutes. To tell me that there is nothing wrong with my alignment and everything was at factory spec. So I told him to drive it and tell me that there is nothing wrong with my car. He came back looking shocked and said that was weird. Like driving on wet glass. So he started to ask me questions. My answers to the question were. I am the original owner, never been in an accident with the car or hit debris of any kind. Tires are brand new, no check engine or warning lights. Diagnostic scanner to the obd port came back with no problems. Car had 25,000 miles on it at the time. I've been told it could be any of eight or nine problems or a combination of a few. Electric power steering, traction control, abs, tire pressure monitor, steering angle sensor, tie rod, ball joints, suspension. My question is, how does this happen with regular service and no warning detection system on board or service equipment finding anything ???.
The front side passenger airbag is not working well and also the tyre sensor is showing on the screen whiles tyre pressure are in good conditions.

P/s dashboard red light came on with sudden loss of steering assist while turning and driving. Luckily the car is light, but I could have easily hit an object, had it happened in a different location or at a different speed. Problem disappeared by itself. Two weeks thereafter, an extremely strong burned electrical circuitry smell suddenly filled the vicinity of the car, could be felt from about 10 feet away, while idling, while stopped for approximately 30 seconds with front wheels turned to the right about half-way, as I was checking my mail box upon entering driveway. A low pitch whining/droning noise was emanating from under the hood while the car was idling. The noise and odor persisted after the steering was set at 0 degree angle and after the car was parked. No p/s dashboard warning light came on. No loss of steering assist. No visible sign of smoke, fire, or melted plastic in engine compartment fuse box. Wire harnesses looked intact. Suspect eps - electric power steering motor. Outside temperature about 85of. Car driven for just 3 miles on that day, side street driving only, never over 35 mph. Ac fan on full blast, headlights off. Car had difficulty accelerating upon depressing the gas pedal on same day, prior to aforementioned incident.

For the second times in 18 month my right side mirror exploded the back part flew to somebody yard there were no one on the but me no truck no kid trowing rock I head a big explosion then the mirror slammed on the side window so hard that the window has some scratches . The first time Toyota fixed it but I have to paid $180. 00 because they t said never heard to a side mirror exploding let me tell you it is scrairry you driving and you hear that explosion.
Car kept accelerating despite the brakes on the car being applied causing the car to crash into a building.
After several calls to Toyota and several days of repair they have yet to fix the issue with the Toyota Yaris having the tire signal turning on not only is it a waste of money because it turns on every other day or so at random times and we have to take it and pay to take it to get it fixed again but it also is a safety hazard because it's higher could really be low and I just think it's messing up and I get a flat tire and be stranded on the side of the road for hours. Or the tire could blow out and cause me to have a wreck and I could injure myself or the other people in the car.

I want to know about settlement info we had to wait 9 hours to get our car fix and I missed work . I need to know about getting a settlement we had 3 recall on our car just want to know how to get settlement.
Passenger side mirror exploding was driving my 2009 Yaris there was no one on the road , no truck no bike was all alone when suddenly heard a huge explosion, when I looked the passenger mirror was gone so was the back of it. It was very scary luckily I was on a small road not on a highway I went to Toyota dealer they don't believed me gave all kind of stories saying they never heard of it. Please can you tell me if they are lying to me. Thank you.
The problem with my 2007 Toyota Yaris is sudden acceleration with accelerator getting stuck at partially depressed levels (around 50-60 mph). I have to press brake several times to get it to stop. This is sporadic and happens without warning. I took it to vann york Toyota in high point, nc and they told me the cause of my problem was after market floor mats. They concluded this after one time traveling around 60 mph. This is not the case because this happens without the floor mat interference. This is still happening and I am afraid that it will get stuck and I won't be able to stop it. I have learned that Toyota recalled vehicles for this exact problem but I never received a recall notice. Please advise me on what I should do. Thank you.
I tried to stop + could not. If feel as if there are several recalls on this vehicle, one that does not meet highway standards, in which the dealership should have known about before selling to me on October 31, 2016. I had trouble getting my title from the dealership + had several issues with the vehicle + it was within the 30 day warranty period, + they told me every time that everything was ok, until I was in my accident + now have + am still dealing with several medical issues.
Sudden unintended acceleration with speed of almost 100 mph, brakes not slowing vehicle wile traveling e/b on freeway and exiting off ramp and colliding with another vehicle traveling n/b on city street chp collision report # 9855-2015 2306 vehicle impounded for investigation.
I was sitting at a red light when my 2007 Toyota Yaris was rammed from behind in a rear end collision. I sustained several injuries. My air bag didn't deploy, but the air bag light came on. In addition, the seatbelts didn't work either. I suffered a comminuted fracture to my left distal clavicle, fractured l1 transverse process, and I'm having surgery to fix the problems that were caused from my face hitting the steering wheel. This happened on oct 20, 2015 and I just found out this is a common problem with 2007 Toyota Yaris'. I can provide addition information is needed.
This recall has been in effect for more than two years with no remedy provided. I also am concerned about takata airbags that may be in my vehicle, but I don't see a recall notice (although I regularly receive mail about potential takata airbag recalls). The power window master switch in the involved vehicles may have been manufactured with insufficient lubricant grease. Recall status recall incomplete remedy Toyota is currently preparing the remedy for this condition. Once remedy preparations are complete, Toyota will send an owner notification letter by first class mail to owners of vehicles covered by this safety recall. Additional details on the remedy will be provided in future communications. Safety risk descrpition if sufficient grease is not applied, under certain conditions the switch may develop a short circuit that can cause the switch assembly to overheat and melt. A melting switch can produce smoke and potentially lead to a fire.
In approximately may 2015 I replaced the hub on the right rear wheel. After the item was replaced and abs sensor reattached I have had the issue of abs and emergency brake light on continually on the dash upon startup, they never go off!!! needless to say I have lost abs since that time. I have had the diagnostics checked and there were three abs relay sensor warning faults, front right, and both back wheels. Since then I have replaced all the wiring harnesses for the three wheels. The diagnostic shows no abs relay faults. The abs and emergency brake light still incessantly stay lit on the dash. I have also tried to reset the internal computer by removing the negative terminal on the battery. I am in the military and have read many issues and faults regarding this abs issue, and it would be very expensive for Toyota or a mechanic to try and fix this issue, that I have seen occurring on many Toyotas across the USA. That's why I have tried to resolve the issue on my own. Now I am pcs'ing to my next duty station, yet if I don't get the dashboard lights to turn off I may not be able to ship the car.
My car came to stop due to a car in front of me stopping suddenly my car did not touch the car in front. I had to brake quickly since car in front braked quickly. Car behind me hit me causing my car to hit the car in front. Car crashed into me in a approximate speed of 30 mph I protected my head from hitting steering wheel with my own strength holding on to steering wheel. I was injured from my leg and ribs. No on else was injured. # cars were involved, including mines. Why did my airbag did not deploy? my glasses went flying and got damaged. My rear end is totally damaged and front as well.

I was driving on the highway, going around 60 mph, when the driver side window exploded. There did not seem to be anything that hit the window and there wasn't a noise before the explosion. Nothing else in the car was damaged.
I was driving southbound on 127 in glencoe kentucky and a deer ran out in front of me almost totaling my whole driver side of my car my air bag never deployed it was a hard hit I could have been hurt if I wasn't wearing my seat belt just getting whiplash. My headlight fender my front number my grille both of my doors and my mirror have to be replaced if possible I want to talk to someone I seen on here that my car has 2 open recalls in my car and I want them fixed as soon as my car gets done being fixed from the shop. I am very unhappy with this car I'm lucky my 2 year old wasn't hurt.
Purchased Dec. 2014 , Yaris 2015 makes grinding noise when on left turns only, maintenance done one month after to resolve issue ,but the noise and grinding still continue .
The keys can be removed from the ignition with the engine running. Possibility of the keys falling out in an accident and unable to turn off engine.
The front end shakes at a low speed took it to a mechanic he can't figure it out.
The charcoal canister assembly had to be replaced which is part of the evaporative emission control system. The cost was $996. 00.
Seatbelt light came "on" while seatbelt was fastened. Mechanice told me today that the diagnostic code told him that the clockspring assembly needed to be replaced - and unless I spent $489+ to fix it that neither the airbag nor seatbelts would work - so it was mandatory to fix it!!.
Purchased 2008 Toyota Yaris sedan used in 7/09 for my daughter with 16,000 miles on it. She's at college so I drive it every other day to work which is only 10 miles. I began to notice a sound when I made a sharp right hand turn into a parking spot like the noise of an actual bar and also a rattle if I went over a small dip in the road. I was told it needed new tires on 10/12/12 @ 29,645 miles, I bought good, safe tires:goodyear eagle LS tires 185/60r15. On 5/10/13 I had her car serviced at Toyota: oil change, tires rotated, inspection of air filter, ball joints, etc. Afterwards, as I was driving my daughter and I up to my son's college graduation it was 80 degrees/sunny/clear roads. 52 miles into our trip I was in the slow lane following traffic at 65 mph. Watching the road, both hands on the steering wheel. All of a sudden the steering wheel jerked to the left and we began to go into a skid. I was avoiding other cars as I was trying to regain control of the Yaris. It was buckling under me each time I tried to carefully get us out of the skids. My foot was not on the brake but I had carefully pulled it off of the accelerator and I remember thinking why wasn't the car slowing down, it just kept skidding. After the 4th skid it went into a complete 180 degree spin with us slamming into the cement median. I slammed on the brakes as we went toward the wall. I have been driving for 35 yrs with no accidents and I have been in skids before, on icy roads & regained control. I do not know what caused the steering to malfunction. I have read about faulty bolts on the control arm. The auto repair shop did tell me they replaced the stabilizer bar. I have noticed since the repair the noise under the car is gone and the throttle no longer "screams" when I take my foot off the gas going downhills. We were not speeding, nor driving carelessly. This car does not have abs nor anti-spin brakes.
Exhaust is extremely loud on Yaris during acceleration and causes the interior cabin to smell. I had a friend look at the exhaust for a leak and all he could find is a shredded gasket. The exhaust was in excellent shape and showed no damage or corrosion. Internet searches have revealed that the gasket on the 07 Yaris is poorly designed and several people are affected by this.
Passenger side rear vision mirror is disilussioning.
