1 Sensor Occupant Classification problem

The contact owns a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The air bag detection warning light was blinking on the console. The contact detected an abnormal dinging sound. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the sensor under the passenger’s side seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 23v215000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
