The contact owns a 2023 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds in stop-and-go traffic, and while idling, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power. The vehicle was shaking abnormally while driving at various speeds. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle occasionally failed to start and was towed to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who aligned the wheels and tightened the bolts. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the loss of automotive power failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.
