Vehicle idles and dies, dashboard error shows manual restart necessary. This happens at red lights, in carpool, on the interstate if traffic has slowed, potentially a huge hazard for being rear ended. You have to put the car in park and manually restart the vehicle. Vw is inspecting today but has not been able to recreate the issue. Vw forum online has many car owners with the same issue and concerns. Check engine light and auto start/stop errors are almost continuous now. Check engine light came on/off about 4 months ago and would clear and then reappear. I assumed maybe bad gas that needed to burn off, the auto start/stop also had intermittent errors.

Sos emergency call button doesn't work. Even though button is show green and technical people at dealership said there are no problems. I actually pressed the button and it said the call can't be made.

I was at a stop sign when I went to pull out from the stop sign the car stalled. I had to put the car in park press the start engine button again in order for the car to restart. This has happened at least 10 times since purchasing the car.

Upon starting the car all of the above warning lights came on the dashboard and did not function. Power steering,l and all adas did not function. Took to dealer and sensor was replaced.

The epc light will come on at anytime. Meaning while driving on a street highway or freeway. Which is a safety issue. The veichle will lose power and start to shake. The light will go off once turned off and turned back on. There most be some electrical issue. Not sure why there has not been a recall on the 2018. They have many complaints and issues. This has been an issue for months.

The contact owns a 2020 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted with the passenger occupant detection system (pods) and electronic power control (epc) warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 116,000.

The infotainment system stops working and goes blurry. The dash where the speed is shown goes black. Blind sport monitoring on the passenger side does not work. I almost got into an accident today because of this.

3 weeks ago, the warning light of the front airbag turned on. The airbag system has a malfunction and is available for inspection I did research and found a safety recall on my car (vw Atlas SUV fwd 2021) with the code: 69pz I have not received any notice from my car dealer or manufacturer I am worried that the faulty airbag system could deploy in the middle of a drive or not deploy in case of an accident.

When I start my car, the infotainment center does not turn on, which means that I lose not just the luxury features that come along with it, but also the safety features, like the back-up camera and road sign recognition. Issues started in January 2025 as intermittent and are now an everyday, even multi-day occurrence. I suspect that it's due to the cold weather, as it didn't start happening until the temps got colder (snowy part of USA). . This is a safety issue, and makes me pretty concerned. I am writing to express my growing concerns regarding the ongoing issues with my vehicle. Within the first week of ownership, the engine began misfiring, and the valves had to be replaced. Soon after, the gas pump in the fuel tank broke and was replaced as well. The climate sensors also malfunctioned and had to be replaced, and the vents required replacement as they were blowing air improperly. Additionally, the middle console, which remains broken, had to be replaced. Unfortunately, it is still malfunctioning, as it is stuck on the highest heating setting, which is particularly concerning with two infants in the vehicle. I have been informed that the replacement part is on national backorder, and there is no eta for its arrival. This vehicle has consistently experienced issues and has been in the shop multiple times, leading to significant inconvenience. Most importantly, the malfunctioning heating system presents a serious safety risk. I am requesting immediate attention to this matter and would appreciate a solution or alternative arrangements. Our anti-theft alert kept being triiggered. Doors on vehicle would not lock. Normally while driving vehicle at around 10 mph the doors of the vehicle would automatically lock but now they will not lock. I tried to manually lock by pushing the lock button but no luck. Driving down the highway at the posted speed limit of 75 mph you could open the driver door ,front passenger door and both backseat doors. I took it to the vw dealership and the asst service manager said it was a software issue and corrected it. Vehicle worked for about 6 weeks then we got the anti-theft alert and doors would not lock and going down the highway you could open. Took back to vw dealership and they said it was a front door latch ,part number 5k1-837-015-j, was failing internally and was replaced and erased the faults. At the first incident vehicle had just over 52k miles and the repair it had 59245 miles. My biggest complaint it would allow you to open the vehicle while driving and if in a wreck all doors could potentially come open on impact.

While driving the main instrument panel turned off for about 10 seconds and restarted with default values, loat ability to see my speed and other vehicle information. This is not the radio I am talking about the main instrument that has speedometer tachometer fuel and temp gauges the car did seem to be runing while this happened.

When the outdoor temperature gets low, below 20 degrees fahrenheit, the vehicle thinks the driver-side front door is open, when it is closed. Because of this, the vehicle does not want to allow itself to be driven and will put on the electric parking brake. Even if released, the parking brake will automatically re-engage any time the vehicle speed drops below a couple of miles-per-hour. In addition, other errors persist with the electrical system, including error messages regarding the hill descent control, parking assist, passenger side airbag detection, internal lighting, etc. Based upon research, it seems this issue is identical to a recall issued for the same make & model, but for the years 2019-2022.

Purchased car with 17,000 miles on it. At 35,400 miles I had an electrical issue, cars was driving slow and jerking, sputtering while on the highway. The emp ? light came on. I brought to the clear lake Volkswagen and they had to change our alot of the electronic system. I drove my car for about 9 months and my battery that was brand new died. There was a something with the electronic system. All along since I have owned the car, it would randomly stall when I would come to a stop. Never a big issue and just thought it was something with the stop/start. Last week while driving on the highway, 4-7 times when I would just take my foot off the gas the car would stall. I would have to pull off the the side of the highway, (not safe) put car in park and start it again. I again brought it to the dealership and they told me it is the carbon gasket filter along with a clogged fuel line. I am hearing that has happened alot. I am selling this car as soon as I get it back. It has had engine issues since 6 months owning. Never buying volkswagon again.

Engine shuts down unexpectable at a stop sign/light and when driving in parking lots. A message on the dashboard comes on "manually restart the vehicle" this has happen several times (at least 4 times) in the past few days.

The vehicle was giving a false alert about my driver's door being opened. The door was infact closed properly. During this time when I was driving when I came to a slowed or complete stop the car put the emgergency/parking brake on. This happened twice in seven days. I took the car to the dealership to look at it and it appears to be a known defect that the door latch can freeze and cause this malfunction. The car has not been in an accident and is less than 5 years old. The repair is $1000. This abrupt braking was hazardous as it cause the car to stop short, my family could have been rear-ended.

Vehicle will get a stop/start error and stall at low speeds in traffic or at stop lights/signs. Have to put vehicle in park and manually restart. Had the same issue at 20k miles and they replaced the carbon canister. This time they won’t replace it until the error code shows. Truly a safety hazard and I can not put my kids back in this car.

On [xxx], when I was driving the car at [xxx] at normal speed, suddenly my car accelerator stopped working (not moving forward while giving the throttle) and I hardly managed to pull my car to the side from the middle row of the road and the car stopped its engine. I saw an indication in the tachometer -epc. I waited for 30 seconds as I was panic, then I tried to restart the car, it started after a few seconds and the epc error slowly disappeared. My daytime running light is inoperative and no longer works. This one small led strip on the passenger side light requires a $2,300 full headlight replacement, which is unreasonable for any consumer given the scope of the issue. My vehicle is only four years old, and several other customers are experiencing this same issue.

I have a 2024 volkswagon Atlas and right now my screen is completely not working. Everything is functional through the screen for controls as well. I can't even control the thermostat. This has become a safety issue as my windows are icy in the morning and I cant turn the defroster on. The service department at the dealership won't look at the car because they said it is a known issue and volkswagon is doing a system update. I was told to hold the power button down for 10 seconds to reset the screen but even that is not working at all. Warning lights come up constantly as well.

The door actuator on the front passenger side of the vehicle stopped working. Here is a list of my concerns as a result: security: inability to lock/unlock/functionality: - the primary concern is the inability to securely lock or unlock the vehicle. It creates a significant security risk, putting myself and my belongings vulnerable. - the alarm system is integrated with the door lock system and when I open the faulty door after locking my car, the alarm does not sound. - keyless entry systems often rely on door actuators. A faulty actuator can render remote keyless entry inoperable.   safety concerns: - if my child safety locks are electronically controlled, a faulty actuator can make it difficult to access the vehicle in an emergency. I have two young children, [xxx] other concerns: a faulty door actuator can negatively impact the vehicle's resale value as it may require repair or replacement. My passenger side led daytime running light failed. We just crossed over 50k miles. This is a 1300 part. After reading online it seems this is a major issue with these vehicles and around this mileage. This appears to be something that needs to be investigated and the manufacturer should have to cover under recall. It’s likely not a coincidence there are this many people reporting the same issue on the same vehicle models/years.

Error with drive system was caused by engine overheating. Maneuver braking function triggered and faulty throttle body issue discovered.

The power windows malfunctioning. When windows are pressed down the windows spontaneously go back up.

Brakes are squealing and grinding noises when I break. This noises are present no matter the speed. Vw dealership from kearny mesa vw, san diego, California USA. Engine: start/stop does shutdown during driving after the autostop system. Electric: sensors is causing false alerts. I deactivated the system, because the system is constantly detecting alerts for no real threats,.

Infotainment display graphics issue; most controls (including disabling seat heaters) are through this screen and camera is displayed on it. Unable to see display clearly and therefore interact with controls or view backup camera to look for obstacles. Search online for "2024 Atlas screen glitch" and you'll see quite a few pictures that are similar.

Infotainment system sporadically becomes pixelated and hard to see and use. The dealership has verified the issue, confirms vw is aware and says there is no fix. This is a very serious safety issue while driving.

Ever since the 2nd day I owned the car which I purchased on [xxx], the interior lighting, sunroof button and roadside assistance button operate themselves when it's colder then 40 degrees outside, the lights blink, the sunroof button doesn't work and the roadside assistance gets called repeatedly. All this is very distracting while driving, especially in the evening time. I have video recorded it and also opened a ticket with volkswagon and also have shown the issue in person to the service manager ian and antwerpan volkswagon in pasadena, MD. They said they contacted volkswagon but have not heard back. So in the meantime I'm having to deal with this. The representative at the shop advised me to "cover the light with something" so it doesn't bother me at night. Unbelievable!! I am beginning to become very distressed!! this is a brand new car that I've owned for 2 months with no remedy and rude help from volkswagon dealer. Screen continues to go out causing to be non functional.

Upon starting car all adas functions did not work. Warning lights came on. Did not work for several days. Took to dealership and they found a sensor in tire to be faulty.

While driving, the steering wheel warning light briefly flashed on my dashboard and then disappeared. Later, it came back on and stayed illuminated. A few minutes after that, my car caught fire, which spread to my garage and caused significant damage to my house.

I have owned this vehicle for not even a year and bought it as a family car. It only has 24k miles. I have had consistent problems with it since the purchase. The vehicle has shut off six times while I've been driving. The first time I was stopped at a stop light when my car shut off. I took it in for service and vw said they couldn't "replicate the issue" so they wouldn't do anything. It has shut off five more times since then. A few of the incidents I wasn't even stopped at a stoplight but was breaking to slow down and the car shut off. My airbag warning also pops on and off all the time. It dings constantly. I took it in for service and they told me the item was being recalled and there is no fix. I now cannot have passengers in my family vehicle. I have now learned that the car has oil leaking onto the engine. This vehicle is in warranty, so at least I won't have to pay for it but it is the most unreliable car I have ever owned. I have a five year old Subaru that has not had a single problem. I do not feel safe driving my Atlas, and I do not feel safe putting my child in it. I need to get a new reliable vehicle but I have a loan on the Atlas. I feel stuck in a death trap. I will never buy a vw again.

Sos light is not working with active subscription, showing error light. Seems to be a problem as multiple Volkswagen owner are having the same issue.

The actuator door has failed, resulting in a constant and very loud clicking noise. I contacted both the dealer and manufacturer and they advised that this happens as no fault of my own. I am now unable to run the fan.

I have a 2024 vw Atlas and the infotainment screen sporadically goes pixelated and it is very hard to use the touchscreen controls. When this happens the rearview camera is also impossible to use as the screen is all scrambled. I have in massachusetts and now since it cold in the morning if the screen is scrambled it makes it very hard to control the heat and turn on the defroster. I will have to let my car sit in my driveway running for at least 20 minutes before I can see out the window. The car has been to vw 3 times now and nothing has been resolved. They are now telling me that they are waiting on a new software updated that will happen mid December. This is a major safety issue and needs to be resolved immediately. Looking online this is a major problem that vw is aware of but don't have a resolution to.
