One problem related to engine has been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Engine cover is poorly designed, and the car is too low. Engine cover gets pulled and scrapes on the ground and rippes apart which goes back into the engine. This occurs when going over a large speed bump also pulling up to a cylinder block.
