One problem related to hatchback/liftgate lock has been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Battery cable has burned out twice since date of purchase. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further details. Rear hatch intermittently will not open with the remote due to it being out of adjustment, the left window switch is loose. Nlm.
