Car Stall problems of the 2000 Volkswagen Beetle

Seven problems related to car stall have been reported for the 2000 Volkswagen Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2004

While driving and at a stop vehicle stalled. Consumer would restarted the vehicle. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2003

The vehicle stalled on several occasions. Previously the battery was replaced, however the stalling continued.

3 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2003

While traveling on the highway and without prior warning vehicle will vibrate and stall without no power at all.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2003

While driving at highway speed with a quarter tank of gas, the vehicle stalled.

5 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2001

Vehicle has stalled 7-8 times at speeds of 55-65 mph. Dealer has replaced O2 sensor 3 times, however that has not remedied the problem.

6 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2000

Intermittently vehicle will stall out while driving approximately 20-25 mph, battery light will come on. Consumer must restart vehicle. Dealer has replaced fuel pump relay switch and ran test, but defect still occurs. Dealer cannot determine cause. Consumer states dealer has also replaced the throttle body and vehicle continues to stall.

7 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2000

While driving at any speed or any time, vehicle stalled unexpectedly which could cause a crash. Able to restart vehicle. Been to dealer 5 times, and dealer could not determine the cause of the problem.
