One problem related to warning light on has been reported for the 2000 Volkswagen Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The air bag warning light appeared on the dashboard while driving about 55 mph on the highway. Cause was undetermined. The light continued to stay on while the vehicle was running. The dealer fixed the vehicle differently each time. (airbag, air bag harness, air bag connector and the instrument cluster) were all replaced.
