One problem related to mid/rear seats assembly has been reported for the 2002 Volkswagen Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
During a rear impact, my son states his seat lumbar section tilted towards the back seating area and the passenger seat (empty) tilted forward, towards the windsheild. My son litterally had to use the steering will to help pull himself back up forward.
