1 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2017

Driver side headlamp - was inspected by ek automotive in chicago. Headlamp assembly is not connecting to power supply therefore, this is a big safety concern! . Every time I hit a bump, the low beam headlight goes out !! vw needs to fix this at their expense!! I've seen so many new Beetles with one headlight out. . . Make it right!!!.

2 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

Headlights do not light properly when turned on to drive at night. Lights only stay in daytime mode. Too dark to drive at night. Have taken it to dealership and they refuse to see it.

3 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2015

I took my 2005 convertible Beetle to the service provider because my r headlight was out. They refused to work on it because it was a fire hazard. All the wires to the headlight were exposed. The protective part over the wires were brittle and appeared to have just rotted off. Each wire will need to be repaired before any one will work on it due to the hazard. I looked at the left headlight and someone had repaired the wires already on that side. Lots of electrical tape and wire nuts. I still have no r headlight. The airbag light has been on as well since I purchased the vehicle used last year. I own another Beetle. It is a 2000 and the airbag light has been on for several years as well. I have read about wiring problems with the airbags and feel that it is also a safety issue I felt that needed to be reported. Please feel free to contact me for further details.

5 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2009

The contact owns a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle. A headlight bulb blew out in the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that the entire high intensity density system needed to be replaced; however, due to the repair cost the contact was unable to repair the vehicle so that he could pass the virginia state inspection. The contact is concerned about the safety risk specifically since the state of virginia prohibits driving without head lamps. The current and failure mileages were 26,000.

6 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2009

Vw 2005 convertible bug both rear window problems, will not roll up or down. Passenger side window is making a horrible squeaking noise, seems to be the next one to go. Along with head light shortages. The last 5 years I have at least replaced the headlights at least 8 times. Recently both headlights have turned themselves off/out. This is ridiculous! this is unacceptable and vw should be ashamed of themselves to not fix the problems that are obviously flawed! I understand putting out a product will have some flaws, but not standing behind their brand name and not making things right is a slap in the face. I was a proud owner of my first car I bought myself. And all I have to show and get out of the deal is an empty wallet and embarrassment when I drive down the road because features don't work right. Do what's right vw and man up to your mistake. I would buy 10 more cars like the one I have if only they took pride in their product and honored the average loyal customer. I'm a 25 year old girl who supports myself on my own dollar. I was raised knowing you fix what problems you create. Be accountable and do what's right! it's your turn vw please do what's right.

7 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2008

I own a 2005 vw Beetle and have had the car since new. The headlights on the car are coming apart at the seams. Vw says this is normal. I don't think it is normal at all. Seems like faulty parts to me. Headlights should not be coming apart at the seams.

The lights would reset after the vehicle was turned off and restarted. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The current mileage was approximately 64,500.

9 Headlights problem

Purchased 2005 vw Beetle with 7,300 miles assured full warranty. . . . Guaranteed paint on front bumper would be corrected. . . Did it twice still peeling off. . . . Electric windows repaired twice. . . . Began making noises when weather was damp. . . Took it to be checked out and was assured it would not always happen but normal. . . Told them transmission seemed to be slipping. . . . One headlight had a short, and then recall on brakelight. . . They did repair that. . . But informed me that was all they had time to do that do due to recall. . . Gas cap cover was sticking as well. . . Didn't fix it either. . . . Then my air bag light came on. . . Took it in for recall on that . . . After it was supposedly fixed airbag light did not go off, insisted it had nothing to do with sensor that was recalled. . . Noise in front end began and floorboard flooded during heavy rain. . . . With no obvious entry point. . . . Did search for problems with vw Beetles and there are thousands having the very same problems I have been experiencing. . . . Now heat gauge light comes off and on, alarm randomly sounds. . . . . But noise in front end concerns me greatly. . . Would not even diagnose car without $98 bucks an hour labor charge to find problems. . . . This car only has 34,952 miles on it and it is falling apart. . . No way can all these problems be fixed and me make payments. . . . But thousands are having these very same problems. . . Why has our government not insisted on a recall. . . . .
