Volkswagen Cabrio owners have reported 7 problems related to automatic transmission (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Manufacturer told me that the car can lurch forward, from 1st gear to 3rd gear, causing an accident due to a bad transmission (car has only 46,100 miles, which leads me to believe that the transmission is faulty and defective, and should be warranty, and replaced by the manufacturer, even if the car is 7 years old).

Vehicle would attempt to stall while driving. Dealer notified. Engine crackles; oil pan leak found; cruise control fixed then broke again, dealership couldn't find problem, engine still revving at slow speeds and at stops, also experiencing harsh downshifts.
Automatic transmission will surge during normal operation. Problem occurs more frequently in warmer weather. *note: tranmission was rebuilt by dealership previously for same problem. Please provide any additional information/attachments regarding this problem.

The vehicle failed to accelerate, the dealer repaired/replaced the transmission, however the problem recurred.
I have had transmission problems since the car had 8,000 miles on it. You push on the gas and the car goes just enough to put you into oncoming traffic and then it won't go anywhere for 3-4 seconds. This has happened on several occassions. I have taken it to the dealership to fix twice and they keep telling me it's fixed, but it's not. My car now has 56,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. No one wants to fix the problem.
