6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2017

I was driving the engine died at freeway speeds. With no power it was dangerous for me to get to the side of the road safely. If it had been at night, im not sure I would hve made it. The problem turned out to be n205 valve. It is a know problem that there is a screen that can fall apart and block the valve from moving oil to the cam shaft. Causing the timing to move and cause catastrophic engine failure. The mechanics at the dealership say it is a issue they see all the time. They said the new version of the part is to correct that. Problem is when catastrophic engine failure happens the dealership attitude seems to be we know its a problem but if the cost is to high to fix, they will not do any thing until there is a recall. That puts peoples safety at risque because of there unwillingness to fix the problem due to the companies bottom line.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2016

An email I sent to darcars/ silver spring: in June of 2016, I noticed my car "puttering" and almost stalling out. A few days later, my engine light comes on. I immediately check the oil level, which were good. I then believe there to be an issue with the muffler, or manifold. In June of 2016, I brought my car in to darcars due to the engine light being on. Within a couple hours, I was told there was an issue with a valve (unclear information provided by the receptionist) under the hood. The action provided was under warranty, so I had to pay nothing. I got my car back the same day. . . Engine light off, and I drove home a few days/weeks later, the engine light came back on. I returned to darcars, and told them the light was on again. This was around August 2016. The receptionist, took the car in, and provided a loner car. A few hours later, I was told the action required was under warranty, and they were fixing it. Again, the receptionist mentioned a "valve" replacement. (very unclear communication) I drove the car a few more days, the engine light came back on. . . I brought it in. . . I'm told the exact same info as before. Except for now, I'm told darcars has to "send-off for a part" . I'm provided a loner, and in a few days, I get my car back. The engine light is off. This is in September of 2016 same story. . . Engine light comes back on(October 2016), again, the engine light returns, along with the low tire pressure light. I bring it in on a Wednesday (before thanksgiving). I inform them of the issue. The receptionist asks me can I leave it. I inform him I'm going to south carolina for the holiday and would return the day after thanksgiving. I also had some errands to run that day (Wednesday), could I have a loner. He told me "no", "you'll be fine if the engine light is on. Just as long as it's not blinking".

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2015

A little over a month ago, I was leaving work and came to a stop light. I accelerated to go after the light turned green and the Cc started to accelerate, and then with no warning, it completely locked down and stalled. I was able to crank it back up and went home without incident. There were no warning messages, lights. . . Anything to indicate a problem. Later that day, I took my daughter to dance and experienced the same issue. I was able to turn around and the next day we put the car in the shop. The mechanic determined that it was happening due to an oil cap not being placed in right after an oil change. This was fixed, and the car performed okay for about a week, and then stalled again; same circumstance: middle of traffic, after a stop, no warning. The car went back into the shop. This time the mechanic determined it was something to do with the turbo seal. This was 'fixed'. Car was returned and again was okay for about a week. It once again stalled. Same circumstance. This time, the mechanic stated he didn't know what was wrong with it. We then took the car in to someone who specializes in vw. He determined it was a defective fuel sensor. He replaced the sensor and we had the car returned to us today. It died on my husband in the middle of traffic. It is now back in the shop, but the mechanic states he has no idea what is wrong with it; it is showing no error codes. I don't know what to do at this point. I have researched this problem and it appears to be common in vw Ccs. How has this not been a recall issue? this is extremely dangerous; there is no warning when it completely locks down. Not too safe in 5pm rush hour bumper to bumper traffic.

9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that there was a progressing intermittent electrical and fuel system failure. The battery was replaced more than 4 times and the failure recurred. In addition, there had been reduced power to the point that the vehicle may shut down at any point in time creating the risk for a potential crash. The vehicle was safely driven to the dealer due to the intermittent failure. The dealer city Chevrolet of san diego, 2111 morena blvd, san diego, CA 92110, (619) 597-1636 was unable to get the vehicle to restart however, the failure was indicated to be related to NHTSA campaign number: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline) with the vehicle exibiting the same condition of the recall repair. The veihcle was not repaired yet. The manufacturer was notified, rendered no assistance other than the dealer repairing the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 4,700. Dyd.
