The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that numerous warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel while attempting to start the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving 40 mph. The contact stated that the failure occurred on three separate occasions. The contact pushed the vehicle to her residence. After the failure occurred, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. Executive Volkswagen of north haven (444 state st, north haven, CT) diagnosed that the failure was due to NHTSA campaign number: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts to perform the remedy were unavailable. Since the campaign was still pending, the contact was informed that she would be responsible for the repair cost. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The contact no longer drove the vehicle to prevent a potential failure or safety related situation should the failures recur. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available. The contact owns a 2011 Volkswagen Cc. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called the dealer (west houston Volkswagen at 281-675-8600 (17113 katy fwy, houston, TX 77094) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. While driving at an unspecified speed, the vehicle lost power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the same Volkswagen dealer, at the recommendation of the manufacturer, and the fuel control module was replaced. The contact was informed that the part was not the recall remedy. The failure recurred three times and the same part was replaced by the same dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
