As I was making a u-turn I could hear a noice from my steeling wheel and immediately the airbag light came on and read "error: airbag". I couldn't help but panic thinking of all the possibilities that can happen. I noticed the buttons on the steering wheel weren't working and later realizing my horn didnt work either. I called the nearest dealership and they automatically wanted to charge me for a diagnosis. They insisted that they had already worked on an airbag recall (69y5) my car had and that the diagnosis found "numerous codes. " one of them was code vag00588 -driver airbag igniter upper limit exceeded telling me they need to install a new steeling wheel clock spring. Debris like fibers and hairs interfered with the wires causing the wires to break internally and resulting in a loss of electrical connection to the drivers frontal airbag. Meaning it will prevent the airbag from deploying in the event of a crash. They quoted me a price of $971. 77 for repairs plus the $160. 00 for the diagnosis. I was furious and refused to spend more money on repairs. I have always taken care of everything my car needs. I've spent so much money on it already. But this is where I draw the line, I'm not spending another grand+ on it when this is clearly a manufacturing defect. I am a commuter. I commute long distances to and from work everyday, so having a faulty airbag, non responding horn or steering wheel controls is extremely scary. Interestingly, vw recalled certain 2010-2014 vehicles with exactly the same issue. Recall code:69l2 Volkswagen needs to take responsibility, recall 2015 vw Cc and correct this defect free of charge. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed without delay. I rely on this car everyday so this issue gets me more and more upset each and everyday.
I brought this car about 3months ago andrive one day abs error so took to mechanic he hooked to machine say rear wheel driver side wheel sensor so got that changed then it gave more code say computer not communicating an also the other sensors out an tcs plus steering asst. So I went online to find out this is a common problem that vw can't even fix . But there still allowed to sale them with out a fix so now I have to guess if I have brakes or tcs an forgot the park brake has a code as well so will anybody fix this problem or do more people have to die in crash or waste money taken it to volkwagan an not get it fix to funny an lights on parked or drive can't clear codes thanks.
While driving in DC and also while stationary my car engine begins to stagger or shake repeatedly and the fuel pump and injectors are also giving out the exhaust system feels backed up epc light goes on and off constantly and air intake manifold looks out of sorts spark plugs go out very fast as well .
Driving on a rainy day the abs brakes skid slightly and and then the abs light the traction control light the parking brake the airbag light it also says (fault/ abs stabalization control (esc) and next message is air bag fault all turn on then turn off a few days later they are all solid and staying on mechanic says it's a bad speed sensor let's see it's not repaired yet.
The epc light came on while driving. The car suddenly lost power, I kept having to take my foot off the gas, and then reapply, it eventually got up to a decent speed on the interstate, then suddenly lost all power regardless of what I did. Was almost hit by an 18 wheeler. This is the most dangerous and ridiculous thing to build a car that tells it to shut off when it first senses a problem. You guys almost cost me my life!!! this is the first vw I've ever owned and was told I would love it. Well, I've had it for 2 day's and I can tell you it won't stay around long if this continues to be a problem. Once I managed to get pulled over I shut the car off waited a min or so and restarted it. The light went off and the car drove like nothing ever happened. I have two small boys and this is a big concern for me. I've read post after post about this being an issue, there has to be something vw can figure out as to what is the main cause, and surely there should be a bypass to keep the car from just shutting off while driving.
Nhtsa recall number17v509: I had my epc dash light for my vehicle turned on while driving on the highway to my job on 6/14/18 . The drive was really rough and bumpy and the exhaust was fuming with emissions from the back. I eventually got to my job, offed my car and had to get my car towed to my local mechanic on 6/18/18 where he found that the fuel pump module was faulty. He charged me $323. 30 out the door for the fuel pump module and labor. I contacted vw to seek for reimbursement on 6/22/18 but was told there is a "pending recall" and that it has not become active yet so they cannot issue me a reimbursement until then. As per NHTSA this recall was known since 8/16/17 and it has now been nearing a year without any resolution. I am seeking to get my amount reimbursed as soon as possible and hoping that NHTSA will be able to assist in this.
My vehicle start with the problem at 33kmiles. Now I'm at 37kmiles and it's happening daily. After starting the vehicle and putting it on drive, the brake will not work properly and started making a screeching noise. All of the warning lights on the dashboard lit up, the message center shows error with airbag, abs brake, vehicle stabilization. . . Etc. I am afraid for my life, this vehicle is not safe to drive. I would stop and turn off the engine and restart the vehicle, sometimes that reset the lights and other times that does not help. The biggest concern is the brakes noises and the power steering gets unstable, and afraid the airbag might not work properly in case of an accident. I just update the airbag from the last recall. I can't drive with my baby in the car because of the issues.
Electrical power to the fuel pump control module. I lost power on a the road while in motion.
My vehicle has failed on the highway on two occasions resulting in a life-threatening situation. I am in poverty and unable to purchase a new vehicle to drive my daughter around.
Manufacturing recall # 20ae NHTSA recall # 17v509 onterruption of power to the fuel pump control module may cause loss of power while in motion that could increase crash causing injury/damage recall fix still not available from mfr.
For this recall notice 20ae- fuel pump control module there is not a repair available yet. Its been 3 months and how is that not enough time to have a remedy available? when will there be a repair available?! this is the vehicle I use and for the safety of my family I do not want to drive something that has potential to harm us even cause death?!!!!!! this summer there was gas fumes leaking and we had the fuel pump repaired and it costed u $700!! is this related?! vw is ridiculous. We are constantly getting recall notices!!!.
I have spent 1000 on the water pump repair, purchased 2 lights at 110. An thewater pump went our again for the second time in 4 months. The air bag recall has been recalled 3times already I have had to take it in. Like this vehicle has had to many problems electrical . When the water pump out the car was stationary.
Takata recall. On a daily basis my car loses all electrical power and shuts completely off while driving on a city street, highway and has even happened while turning. It's a tremendous safety concern, as I have to stop in the middle of the road, put the car in park and try restarting. This has caused several car pile ups behind me. Vw stated they are unable to pay to have this recall fixed and stated that I would be responsible for replacing the fuel pump and fuel module. I am not able to cover these expenses. This should be the responsibility of vw corporate to cover and fix this recall.
I was in a car crash 02/24/2017 no airbags deployed. As I was turning left a car ran the red lite, slammed into my passenger side.
Car will not start , no warning ,call vw USA no help ,they are redoing engine ,cost $5000. 00 help.
Hello, I have a 2010 vw Cc. My airbag light has come on and my horn and steering wheel controls don't work. Volkswagen does have a recall for the "clockspring" which would fix all this but my VIN is not covered under this recall even though some of the same cars and same year are covered. I called them and they said I would have to go get it fixed at a dealership and I would maybe get a refund. Since then my steering wheel light has came on and it is very hard to turn. I can't believe they wouldn't cover this. I would think airbag and horn are huge safety concerns and they already know that this parts fails. When I called Volkswagen customer service they lady could not help me at all other then saying there is another recall for the airbag but they don't have a fix yet so there's nothing they can do. I at least would like my airbag and horn to work, right? also, I asked to speak to a manager twice and both times I was put on a 10 minute hold only for her to come back and say "my manager told me to tell you" both times. No help at all. I truly hate Volkswagen and their customer service. Any help or direction would be much appreciated. Thank you - benjamin r.
Car will only start intermittently. Idles before starting sometime on the 3rd try or not at all. Lights flash during idle on dash board.
Takata recall my dsg is faulty I am having a few codes pop up I'm cooking my vehicle to a Volkswagen dealer to get my faulty airbag recall fix and they never told me that the dsg was on a recall. I was driving on the highway and my car gear started flashing and I lost power and nearly got into an accident.
While driving my steering wheel controls stopped functioning to include my horn, airbag, esp, and traction control. After researching the web I found this is a common issue on all vw models and occurs around 40,000 miles. Apparently the vw clockspring in the steering column assembly has a design flaw, and there is no recall at this time.
Driving at 65 mph suddenly the steering wheel system was blocked. Become very hard to move the steering wheel & also very noise when I was trying to move it. The car was took to dealer and they said. That the steering gear box failed. Later on the customer service free phone line of vw said that was a quality issue. They said are not legally responsible because is not within warranty period. Cc vw car seems very unsafe car.
