Wheel problem #1

The tire pressure light continues to alert never going away and tire store says it's a sensor but it's causing my tires to get worn quicker and have had 2 blowouts I have tried to get this resolved and repaired by Volkswagen but the customer service employee said I was crazy because they have never had 1 recall on my vehicle and that she was going to report my VIN number for illegal reporting of recalls to have repairs that I want free of charge then proceeded to tell me my kind are liars, stealing from americans and needed to be taken to my country and I would be in trouble for calling them falsely reporting repairs needed to gain free mechanic repairs so I would not have to come out of pocket.

Wheel problem #2

Volkswagen recalled certain model year 2012, Cc vehicles, for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicles safety standard no. 138, "tire pressure monitoring system (tpms). Vehicle in question currently is experiencing an issue with this system. Volkswagen should extend this recall to this vehicle and others like it. Specifically the tpms sensor will not detect pressure in tires after tire replacement or rotation and there is no way to reset system.

Wheel problem #3

My left tire blew out and I had no flat tire indicator on my dashboard while travelling full speed on the freeway. The next day my engine stalled with no warning of low/no oil in my car. Both of the issues could have caused a fatality or multiple fatalities when a 2012 vw Cc luxury just stops with no warning. I have called vw corporate and of course they stated they cannot help me since this repair is not a recall item: however, I see tons of complaints regarding the 2. 0 engine in my car manufactured by vw. This matter needs to be resolved immediately and not ignored. Vw needs to cover my engine cost at 100% they know it is faulty and to completely ignore all the complaints before mine is asinine.

Wheel problem #4

Something in the front left when I get speed over 55 miles.

Wheel problem #5

Tires constantly suffer from cupping.

Wheel problem #6

Road noise at 60mph made me inquire at my 2 year maintenance event. My car only have 16000 miles and there is uneven wear and cupping in the rear tires, per the dealership. They said there is nothing they can do about it (without me paying for it). After searching the internet I have found numerous cases of vw Cc owners complaining about the problem only for vw to do nothing. It is a systemic problem with how vw sets up their suspensions which is leading to poor tire wear and cupping. The suspension is not set up properly from new, and it takes every owner 10-20k miles, a new set of tires, and an alignment to remedy the problem.

Wheel problem #7

Takata recall : soon after I purchased my used 2012 vw Cc , the problems started : airbag light turned on , at the same time horn became inoperative and steering wheel controls became disabled. Nhtsa recall # 16v078, NHTSA campaign number: 16v078000 , manufacture's recall # 69m9, recall date 02. 09. 2016. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available ! the second recall is : tires - pressure monitoring and regulating systems ( tpm ). Flate tire image on and off every day a lot of times per day, despite the tire pressure is ok. Defective airbag ( inflator ) along with defective tpm are both major safety issues and in need to fix it ASAP free of charge. Volkswagen of kearny mesa san diego offered to fix the airbag at high price ! driving with those problems is dangerous ! I did not write directly to Volkswagen of America, but I am going to do it ! thank you.

Wheel problem #8

Driving down highway and steering wheel took the car left, lost control and crashed. Entire wheel and axle was off vehicle. Lucky that the driver airbag opened as there was an open recall on it for possible defect.

Wheel problem #9

!. Since the purchase of my car I had complained numerous times about the sluggishness of my car, stohlman admits there was a problem but would not repair because the engine light was not on, according to them. Engine came on, took it to a dealership closer to home same thing, would not address the misfiring issue. Mind you, my car was still under warranty. Now the engine light stays on, now warranty has ended. Several cylinders misfiring. I want stohlman to correct the issue. My tire pressure screen never read the same number since purchase, I had spoken about this too but was always told that the heating and cooling off of the tires will give different readings. The car has to returned less than a month of purchase because of a clunking sound. They claimed that they did the inspection the qualify the car as certificated, I truly do not believe it. I am tired of the issues and need resolution. There was no way you could avoid the sound, they got the car in March 2014, I purchased in may 2014. Also, I had to constantly put air in my tires.

Wheel problem #10

An email I sent to darcars/ silver spring: in June of 2016, I noticed my car "puttering" and almost stalling out. A few days later, my engine light comes on. I immediately check the oil level, which were good. I then believe there to be an issue with the muffler, or manifold. In June of 2016, I brought my car in to darcars due to the engine light being on. Within a couple hours, I was told there was an issue with a valve (unclear information provided by the receptionist) under the hood. The action provided was under warranty, so I had to pay nothing. I got my car back the same day. . . Engine light off, and I drove home a few days/weeks later, the engine light came back on. I returned to darcars, and told them the light was on again. This was around August 2016. The receptionist, took the car in, and provided a loner car. A few hours later, I was told the action required was under warranty, and they were fixing it. Again, the receptionist mentioned a "valve" replacement. (very unclear communication) I drove the car a few more days, the engine light came back on. . . I brought it in. . . I'm told the exact same info as before. Except for now, I'm told darcars has to "send-off for a part" . I'm provided a loner, and in a few days, I get my car back. The engine light is off. This is in September of 2016 same story. . . Engine light comes back on(October 2016), again, the engine light returns, along with the low tire pressure light. I bring it in on a Wednesday (before thanksgiving). I inform them of the issue. The receptionist asks me can I leave it. I inform him I'm going to south carolina for the holiday and would return the day after thanksgiving. I also had some errands to run that day (Wednesday), could I have a loner. He told me "no", "you'll be fine if the engine light is on. Just as long as it's not blinking".

Wheel problem #11

I have a 2013 Volkswagen Cc, right now it has only 23,000 miles and the tires are cracking so badly, the car was in service on 2014 which pretty brand new, I want dot to re certified this tire make sure it pass dot standard I will submit images upon request.

Wheel problem #12

2013 Volkswagen Cc equipped with continental conti pro contact tires. While driving at all speeds, an abnormally loud noise emitted from the tires. The vehicle had less than 15000 miles on the tires when the problem began. The road noise got progressively worse and eventually took the car to the dealer. The dealer stated that the problem is due to cupping of the tires and that I would need to replace the tires and get a realignment. The car has been serviced on a regular basis through the dealer and the dealer did not mention any issues with alignment during the services. Other owners had provided similar issues on the internet and that the issue had not resolved after both new tires and realignment in many cases. The issue seems to be related to bad alignment or ball joints in the suspension with the vehicle. I placed a complaint with vw and they would not furnish how many similar issues were reported by the consumers. Vw case# 160380592.

Wheel problem #13

Chronic low tire pressure readings from monitoring system (tpms). Dealer unwilling to repair during warranty and after warranty expiration. Notified dealer and Volkswagen of America in writing with no response. Tires are loosing tire pressure regularly. False positive display for flat tire. The tpms was indicating problems before 12k miles and the tires are still loosing air after 34k miles. Problems have been addressed for over three years as documented on dealer service records. Tire pressure problems are noted by dash display when ignition is on and while driving, and verified with manual tire pressure gauge. Pressure drops have been recored to 23 psi (33 psi recommended). Problems occur intermittently. I have photo documentation and related service records verifying these problems. I consider this a very serious safety issue.

Wheel problem #14

I purchased the vehicle 12/12 as a demo with 5k miles on it. The tires aroud 9,000 miles were worn so uneven I just couldnt take it anymore. After going back and forth with dealer they agreed that they would pay for 3 tires if I would pay for one. I did it and though I would be doing great with my new michelin pilot sport as3, but since the last rotation I feel like I am driving a train (ruh, ruh. Ruh. Ruh). I am going to bring up the negative camber issue that many many people complaine about and see if there is a permanent fix. In my and many other peoples opinion this car is perfect minus this. I would think by now they would have come clean and issued a recall of some sort.

Wheel problem #15

I have replace two set of tires on my 2013 Volkswagen Cc. I twice by two different vehicle maintenance copies that both set of tires showed cupping wear. This is due to vehicle suspension, shocks, struts. Currently there a large number of customers who purchase the Volkswagen Cc model complaining of the same problem. There was also an apparent lawsuit file (case 1:17-cv-23033-rns), against Volkswagen of America regarding the same issue many customers are having. I filed a complaint with Volkswagen of America regarding my problem, stating that in the pass couple of years I had to replace two set of tires for this reason. Tire cupping can be very dangerous due to uneven tire ware, not to mention the suspension being the main problem of the vehicle. Improper suspension could lead to dangerous breaking issues. After reading the many reviews from customers complaining about the same issue, and reporting this issue to Volkswagen to no avail since 2010. I'm asking nntsa to please investigate this dangerous issue that Volkswagen is not admitting to. I have included the court document that was filed in August of 2017.

Wheel problem #16

Tire pressure sensor will not go out even after reset the engine light inadvertently goes on, the same for the steering column and then my phone stops pairing correctly with the car.

Wheel problem #17

Driving on us-95 outside of philadelphia PA. Changed lanes from left lane to center. Small rut between lanes. Right from wheel failed. When changing the tire, I noticed the wheel completely cracked along the circumference on the flat sect where it meets the side ramp of the wheel going towards the bead. The tire stayed in place, but the wheel broke into 2 sections. There is no evidence of pot hole damage. Like a large chuck or crack in side wall of tire or rim. I believe this is a defect.

Wheel problem #18

Volkswagen Cc has significant problems with poor tire wear, cupping. I was told by service department that Volkswagen has a european alignment that "toes in"? for handling. The tires wear poor. They replaced one tire that was in really bad shape and I purchased another. Soon after the other two tires did the same thing. The tire company dobbs in st. Louis told me that the Volkswagen alignment causes bad wear. Volkswagen says the alignment is fine.

Wheel problem #19

The contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the pressure sensor warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the tire pressure sensor needed to be replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number (tires) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 64,980.

Wheel problem #20

For the fourth time I have gone to get my car checked out, and the problem isn't getting resolved. There's a constant rattling, that makes the car seemed unbalanced of sorts. Also my tires are getting used up, very rapidly as little as 2-3 months. They say they know what the problem is, but still my car needs to be brought in for the same thing.

Wheel problem #21

Nature of the matter; purchase a Cc 2012-Volkswagen from dealership 7/3/12 with 9,972 delivery miles. On 11/9/2012 took car in loud roaring occurring noise coming from the tires whiling driving at freeway speeds 55mph conti-pro-2-354-17(23545r1794h) while driving on freeway seen like the tires or going to explode!! again took vehicle back 02/05/13 I report a loud occurring noise coming from front tires miles at this time 20,058. At this point they rotated the tires the loud roaring noise went from the front to the back of the car. At this point I was afraid to pick my grandchildren up from school due to the defect tires!! on 03/25/2013 took vehicle back for the same problem 22,250 miles- finally the dealership dect the problem the tires are faulty- inside - the fast you drive on freeway the noise get louder and un-safe. Once the problem was found contiental- didn't want to warranty - or- exchange- there faultee -tires-which are possible not safe. I had to pay to change out the tires, because contiental did-not want to stand behind there integrity, and compliance values. . . .

Wheel problem #22

Back in September of 2012 was told I needed a new tire (bubble in tire) at only 15,000 miles. Replaced tire at 208. 00 dollars. July of 2013 had my 20,000 mileage service and was told another tire had a bubble and needed new tire. New tire purchased at 208. 00 and also had my inspection sticker done at the same time;all tires passed inspection. On my way home from this service noticed my car was riding rough and a vibrating noise. Brought the car back at dealership (all services listed done at fathers & son) two weeks after my July new tire purchase and was told I needed two more new tires, same problem bubbles inside and outside tires. Had no choice because of safety reasons and had to purchase two more new tires for a total of 416. 00 dollars. I have owned numerous cars and have never had to replace any tires even though I keep my cars for at least five years, but low mileage. I was told it was my driving habits so I decided to go on the internet to research these tires and was appalled on how many complaints and unsatisfied consumers with almost all the same problem I had. Please check into these tires as to my knowledge are very unsafe and could cause a serious accident if these tires rupture because of the bubbles. To this date I had to replace all four tires with current mileage of 22,668.

Wheel problem #23

This letter is a follow up to a verbal complaint I filed with Volkswagen customer care. On may18th 2011, the right front wheel on my 2012 vw Cc shattered as I drove down interstate 95 as it passes thru the town of greenwich. My concern is focused on the safety of the wheel design and my belief that the over inflation of the tires contributed to rim failure. The incident occurred at approximately 10am on that day there were no visible defects in the road and the car that pulled over behind me confirmed the absence of any large potholes. While driving in the middle lane the car clearly came in contact with an irregularity, one that every car before and after was able to transverse without a problem. In my case the rim shattered and separated from the car causing a loss of control. I was able to pull to the side of the road. The car that was behind me pulled over after seeing what he described as an explosion on the right front side. I have attached pictures of the rim. Clearly showing product failure. When the tow truck arrived, he commented that he has never witnessed rim failure liken that. The dealer upon review of the damage concurred. My concern is twofold. One the safety of the design and construction of the rim and the over inflation upon delivery of the tires which contributed to the weakness of the design. I am requesting an inquiry into the safety of this design, the training of the staff on proper inflation guidelines and the reimbursement for costs associated with this failure.
