Electrical System problem #1

Took vehicle in today to tracy Volkswagen in tracy California to fix my airbag light that came on for passenger side seat airbag. They said there were unable to repair the issue cause Volkswagen discontinued the part. So they said to me that ecs tuning has the part available and they could install it for $537 extra. I thought the airbag system was suppose to be free of errors for the lifetime of the vehicle so why do I put myself and occupants in danger driving with a malfunctioning manufacture part? I hope there is some remedy for this and I am not paying almost another $1000 for this light to be turned off. Hope Volkswagen gets their act together and mind their customers safety of their vehicles. This is unbelievable! hope this gets to Volkswagen and NHTSA does something about this!.

Electrical System problem #2

-air bag - repeated sensor failure, which are disabling the air safety system. - failure of the red led dash display (the red display boards have a history of failure due to 4 defective solder on the circuit board) which makes the operator unaware that doors are not closed and latched, so that the doors open without warning with the vehicle in motion. Also, loss of verification of shift location ( is the vehicle in park-drive-reverse) which can cause the car to move without warning.

Electrical System problem #3

I have twin daughters that were 17 yrs. Last yr. I am a single mom. I bought this car off a craigslist ad. When my daughter & I went & looked at it I looked to see if it had ever been wrecked it had no report of that. The person that sold it to me said the convertible didn't go down because he didn't have the key, I had no idea that it had 33 complaints filed on it, and it would be leaking water filling the floor boards 2-3"every time it stormed. I also didn't know that the person that bought it brand new was hit by a ice truck who rolled over the top over it, nor did I know that the next person that bought the car had the convertible top blow off on the freeway going 60 mph down the road so her mechanic just glued it closed, nor did I the person I bought it from said it had one owner and it ran really great, I expressed I had to buy two cars & couldn't afford to buy junk or something unreliable, now my daughter is ready to go out of state to college & we can't even sell the car because of all of the complaints filed against the car. We can't afford to get it fixed and had never been sold to us as a decent running car as is. This car is literally falls beyond the lemon law it is dangerous, and I feel we have been taken advantage of in this situation. I don't know what to do about it. But I am in no position to finance another car for my daughter, this vehicle should be taken out of commission.

Electrical System problem #4

Power windows do not operate in sub-freezing temperatures. With no ice or frost on windows they just do not want to move in very cold temperatures, 30 degrees f and below. Notified dealer, their response was to reset the window controller which gets the window working until the next sub freezing temperature event. No attempt was made to determine the cause of the failure. Because the windows need to move to open the door in this car and a trip to the dealer is required to get the windows working again this could be a potential safety concern.
