While driving a 2012 vw Eos, the engine stumbled and unloaded tons of smoke out of the rear of the car. This incident occurred while driving the car at a high rate of speed and caused a dangerous situation. The dealership replaced the defective fuel injector, which happens to be under warranty for 120,000 miles. The issue I have is that vw will not proactively replace the defective fuel injectors, potentially causing 3 more dangerous situations. Additionally, when a fuel injector fails there is a high probability of a catalytic converter failure due to the engine misfire. This happened to me and vw would not cover the failure of the catalytic converter - which seems unfair, especially in light of vw's issue with its recent emission scandal. I had 2 independent mechanics verify the impact a failed fuel injector has, yet my Volkswagen dealership did not agree mine was caused by a failed injector.

Approximately 6 years my daughter and her boyfriend were driving and she heard a loud pop sound, and thought it might be a tire but it wasnt behaving like it was and then all of the sudden people are driving next to her telling her to pull over cuz the car was on fire, she pulled it over and as soon as she got out the whole car caught fire. When they noticed the fire it had started near or under the passenger front seat, there was no warning lamps or any problems proir. The auto insurance company took the car and they said they inspected it but never gave me any answers, they simply paid off my loan and that was it. The fire department put out the fire, the car was burnt to a crisp, and the fire men were accusing my kid of smoking and starting the fire, so they did no investigation.

I have twin daughters that were 17 yrs. Last yr. I am a single mom. I bought this car off a craigslist ad. When my daughter & I went & looked at it I looked to see if it had ever been wrecked it had no report of that. The person that sold it to me said the convertible didn't go down because he didn't have the key, I had no idea that it had 33 complaints filed on it, and it would be leaking water filling the floor boards 2-3"every time it stormed. I also didn't know that the person that bought it brand new was hit by a ice truck who rolled over the top over it, nor did I know that the next person that bought the car had the convertible top blow off on the freeway going 60 mph down the road so her mechanic just glued it closed, nor did I the person I bought it from said it had one owner and it ran really great, I expressed I had to buy two cars & couldn't afford to buy junk or something unreliable, now my daughter is ready to go out of state to college & we can't even sell the car because of all of the complaints filed against the car. We can't afford to get it fixed and had never been sold to us as a decent running car as is. This car is literally falls beyond the lemon law it is dangerous, and I feel we have been taken advantage of in this situation. I don't know what to do about it. But I am in no position to finance another car for my daughter, this vehicle should be taken out of commission.

Traveling down the road at 60mph, the engine suddenly lost power and the tachometer redlined before it dropped into first gear. The epc light came on. My wife was driving. I got in and the light was out, so I drove for five minutes and the light came on and I lost power on the highway at 65mph -- same issue with tach. I pulled over to the side of the road and took it to the nearest mechanic shop. It is still at the shop as they are trying to troubleshoot. Noticed that vw put out a tech bulletin in 2009 (15 09 03 Dec. 16, 2009 2015153 supersedes t. B. Group 15 number 09-02 dated November 10, 2009 to revise technical diagnosis code in warranty table. ) but did not issue a recall. Seriously, this is a major safety issue as the truck behind me swerved to miss me. Searching the internet, it seems that there are numerous complaints regarding this, but no recall to fix this. Help!!!.

On March 18, 2016 I was driving my car and it began to shake and shutter as if I had a flat tire. It would also not accelerate. Fortunately I was able to pull onto the side of the highway and check for a flat. I did not have a flat. I had my car towed to the dealer and they determined that one of the four fuel injectors was faulty. They informed me that Volkswagen was having issues with fuel injectors and that it was going to be covered under warranty even though my car was out of warranty. I asked them to replace all four of the fuel injectors since they were having issues with them, but they would not do so. The dealer only replaced one of the fuel injectors. I contacted Volkswagen customer care on March 21, 2016 and I was told that vw had issued a warranty extension on fuel injectors and they were now covered for 10 years/120,000 miles. I asked if they would be able to replace the three original fuel injectors, since I am now concerned about the safety of my car. They told me that they would not do that since they were operating properly. I pointed out that it would be safer to be proactive and replace the three original fuel injectors since they were installed at the same time as the one that was replaced and could very well fail in the future. Vw told me that they would not do so. I am therefore contacting you to see if you could intervene on my behalf and have vw replace the three original fuel injectors. Thank you vw customer care 3800 west hamlin rd auburn hills, mi 48326.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Eos. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle jerked as the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle did not accelerate. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the cylinder one fuel injector was stuck open and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000. Sg.
I have been experiencing a sudden & complete loss of power while driving between 0-40 mph on numerous and continuing occasions (2010 vw Eos lux). The problem started at about 60,000 miles, lasts about 4-5 seconds at a time, and occurs randomly. Perhaps the most common speed during the occurrences is about 25 mph. Because the vw dealership cannot replicate the problem, they refuse to take any action. I have complained about this dsg transmission during my entire ownership (original owner). I have always believed it was defective since it has always had an unreasonable and significant lack of acceleration or turbo lag (0-5 mph). I purchased the vehicle in oregon and now live in southern California.
The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Eos. While driving various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. In addition, the contact noticed an abnormal odor of fuel when driving. The contact mentioned that the electronic power steering, engine, and automatic transmission warning light illuminated. The failure recurred constantly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the failure was not determined. The throttle body, coil pack, and fuel injector were replaced but the remedy failed. The manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
I was driving home from baltimore on the freeway going about 70mph and the vehicle started losing speed and nothing I did would get it to go again. I had to pull over put the car in park, shut the car off and then I was able to go again. This happened about 6 more times driving home to pittsburgh. I went to the dealer and they "fixed it". It worked for a short period of time. Then it happened again and they couldn't find anything wrong with it so they put seafoam in my car. It happened several more times and they had my car for months. They think the seafoam hid the problem for almost a year. They replaced fuel injectors and that helped for about 400 miles. Then they replaced the part that is the equivalent of a caarburetor. This fixed it for about 5 months this time. I just made a trip to chicago and thank god this did not happen there as I would have been killed. Now I am at 85,000 and it just happened on August 6, 2015. Once again vw corporate is not being of much assistance. I was told by vw coporate in February 2015 to dump the car and they would give me $1,000 off a new vw. This is unacceptable. This car is not safe and I am not getting anywhere with either the dealer or vw corporate. I have read other blogs and I know that I am not the only Eos owner having this problem. Will this take gm or Dodge deaths to get someone's attention? I really hope I am not the person killed.
Check engine light came on, when taken to dealership they say I have a faulty intake manifold runner and it needs to be replaced. If not the vehicle may/will stall. This same part was recalled in the 2006-2008 models of this vehicle and several others. Are the 2009 models affected? the vehicle has been maintained all maintenance has been done to manufacturers recommendations.
