Two problems related to electrical system have been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen Golf. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While at high speeds, the engine would shut off (not stall), the cause was the power supply relay for the diesel engine.
Electronic defects that manufacter cannot/will not fix. Car will stop at cruise speeds without warning and during acceleration. Car has been to dealer5 times since may to date. No fix available yet. Extremely dangerous in many road conditions.
