1 Wheel problem of the 2022 Volkswagen Golf

Failure Date: 07/04/2023

The tire pressure monitoring system failed, the front right tire had ruptured and was completely flat for 4-5 blocks and the tire pressure monitoring system did not report to the driver that there was a loss of tire pressure. Yes this car is available for inspection upon request. This could have led the driver into an unsafe situation by not reporting a tire had failed. The issue will be confirmed by a dealership when I take the tire in for repair. Tire has not been inspected yet, I simply changed out the spare tire. No warning lights, errors, or system warnings. And this is point. There is a system on this car that will tall you if tire pressure has changed. It did not tell me tire pressure changed when the tire went completely flat and the car continued to drive. This to me is a failure of the tpms. Please note this is my third report of safety system failures that can result in harm to the driver or others. I hope you are investigating vw with their newest software and sensor systems. They are highly unreliable and unsafe.

2 Wheel problem of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf

Failure Date: 03/01/2023

Discovered several inches of water in the spare tire boot area. The entire back seat was also soaked through. Water appears to be leaking into the car from rear pressure vents behind the bumper or from another undetermined source, posing risks including black mold and damage to the spare tire.

7 Wheel problem of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf

Failure Date: 04/25/2015

I purchased a 2015 vw Golf tdi with 18" wheels and low profile pirelli tires August 2014. This vehicle was re-engineered for the us market to make room for the urea tank that is new and specific to the us tdi platform. All other Golf models have an independent suspension system while this model was downgraded to a torsion beam rear suspension. The vehicle is equipped on lower end models with 16" wheels and higher profile tires, but the high end vehicles have the 18" wheels and low profile tires as standard equipment. On April 25, I noticed a sidewall bubble on a front tire. Vw replaced both the tire and bent rim and I was told the other 3 rims were bent. Then the other front tire had a sidewall blowout and both that tire and wheel were replaced. The other week I ended up with a side wall nail in a rear tire. This tire was replaced but not the wheel and I was told that all wheels are bent, including the 2 new wheels. I have just under 18000 miles on the vehicle, have called vw America and was sent the spec sheet on the car. I asked if a car without independent suspension was engineered for low profile tires and asked for someone to explain why I have had 2 sidewall issues and 6 bent rims in under 18,000 miles and 11 months without any response other than vw America sending the spec sheet. I feel that this is a safety issue and asked for the specific engineering approval of low profile tires with this suspension system and was told vw America does not have this information and would not provide it to me if they did.

8 Wheel problem of the 2013 Volkswagen Golf

Failure Date: 08/16/2014

Our vw Golf came with continental contipro contact tires. With less than 9300 miles on the car, we had a catastrophic tire failure. As we entered the freeway on ramp, our tire indicator lit up telling us to check the tires. Less than three minutes later, in a high speed zone limited to one lane because of construction, with no shoulder, our front drivers side tire completely separated, leaving us with limited control over the car and few options to avoid a crash that potentially could have resulted in a huge pile up and fatalities. Checking a website regarding continental tires at consumer affairs. Com, I see hundreds of similar complaints about these tires failing at low milages. This is extremely dangerous. People's lives are at risk.
