One problem related to frame and members has been reported for the 1997 Volkswagen GTI. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Side moldings came out repeatedly. The warranty was only 2 year. One came out within two year and initially covered by the warranty but when it came out again they said it was not covered anymore.
