Abs faliure. Abs warning light activates, activates sporadically while driving randomly, braking ability is hampered, does not work normally. Occassionally antilock breaks engage at low speed breaking. Brakes do not function normally. Speedometer experienced malfunction, fluctuations not related to speed occured. Stability malfunctioned during breaking and automatic downshifting.
The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Gti. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds during rain, the brake pedal was depressed which traveled to the floorboard and became stuck. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was released, it would delay in retuning to its normal position. In addition, the abs warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the abs brake module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Abs warning light started coming on. Then a warning light that the right, rear turn signal had failed. One week later the entire dashboard is covered in warning lights, including a "faulty engine workshop" warning light. It appears that abs control module has failed, leaving me with no abs braking on a well maintained, 50k mile car. This seems to be rampant problem with the tsi mkv Gti at this mileage. Vw of America offered me no assistance. Vw should recall this part before they see any accidents lead to serious injuries.
