I have a 2002 Volkswagen automatic tdi Jetta and the car will not engage when I shift it in reverse. It either rolls forward or just revs without engaging. I called the dealership and they said the transmission needs to be replaced and it is a common problem with 2002 Jetta's. It is not under any warranty and will be costly to fix.
