2005 vw. Jetta - VIN# [xxx]. The transmission shifts hard & down shift hard when the car has run for a period of time during travel. Also, the faulty air bag light comes on when the car is first started and may show intermittently while driving. The catalytic converter & 02 sensor have been replaced but the codes still show when put on the machine. The ignition key gets stuck in the ignition. My airbag light is on and it never goes off when I first start it it has a warning noise and says airbag fault then the light stays on the car also when driving it sometimes gets stuck in the rpm window between the 2 and the 3 and it wont want to get unstuck you have to take your foot completely off then place back on the pedal and then it jerks away.
Air bag light on in vehicle indicating an error with the system. Manual says the bag may not deploy or deploy while driving. This is a major safety concern I think the car company should address.
A few weeks ago, I went to start my car and all the lights were flashing and car didn't start. Jumped the battery, got the car running; but ever since my air bag light has stayed on and the driver's window is slow, the auto up/down feature not working, and if the driver door is open, I can't pop trunk or gas lid or roll down any of the windows. My car is no longer under warranty, so it's going to be very expensive to fix the multiple issues.
I purchased my vw Jetta new in 2005. Since then I have had a recurring issue that I believe can cause death to the drivers or passengers if they are in a n accident. I have had problems with the airbags (air bag light comes on) about 5 or 6 times. . The most recent one being the beginning of the month. The times the light has come on I have taken it to the dealership and it has been repaired. . But it seems to always be the same thing. . Some sort of damaged/shorting wires from what the dealer has told me. I feel that this is not an isolated issue and feel that for the safety of other owners of the same vehicle should be looked into/rectified by the manufacturer. I called today to vw's customer service. . And was brushed off. . And told that my vehicle was out of warranty. I have paid many times to get this issue fixed. . I was not trying to get warranty work done. I was trying to bring to light a re occurring issue that my car was having.
The airbag light has come on 4 times in my 2005 new Jetta 2. 5 the seat belt sensors in front have been replaced once at dealership, this started when the car had only 22000 miles and kept coming on around every 10000 miles, they had to also replace the airbag(s) not sure which ones were replaced, the seatbealts don't wind back up properly sometimes as well. At around 25000 miles the brakes had to be replaced, we heard a clicking one day in the rear wheel well, we took it to the dealership they had replaced the brakes, rotors etc. I have documentation of these repairs.
