general problems of the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta

My car began flashing a bunch of warning lights, including the passenger air bag and the blind spot warning and locks working on the inside. I took my car to the dealer and had them diagnose it. Turns out it needs to parts that are connected; one part they have, another they have tried to order from corporate. This part has been on back order for 8 months.

Nothing has happened as far as a crash goes yet but my air bag lights are on. Indicating that they need repair of some sort. There are also electrical issues that include doors locking while in the vehicle and various lights. I have called different Volkswagen dealers and I was told that there are no current recalls on my vehicle. As a result I was told I would have to pay for these issues on my own. This is not a possible scenario, I receive social security as my total income. My family is in danger at this point due to these issues. Volkswagen also requires an upfront amount of 200 "just in case" something else is wrong that is not covered. I could be wrong but I think this is a form of extortion that takes my choices away. Anyway at this point I don't quite know what to do to take care of these issues before one of us dies that drive the car?? I never even wanted this car but the dealer told me I could only get and afford this vehicle, a 17,000 dollar vehicle??? My son was driving 45 miles per hour when he hit the sidewalk with both tires on the passenger side. Due to this, the curtain airbags were activated on both the driver and passenger side as well as the passenger seat bag, which I think should not have happened and this caused my insurance to determine it as a total loss.

On my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta I am having the same issue that the recalled Volkswagen atlas SUV's are having. When the car is running I get a air bag error on my dashboard and the air bag turned off light stays on. This also happens when a passenger is seated in the front passenger side seat. It doesn't happen all the time but has about 5 times in the last couple of weeks.

I was in a head on collision where the other person crossed the line and two empty lanes to hit me head on. This was in may 2021. Not one single warning was used by forward collision sensors. No emergency braking was applied. My airbags were not deployed and this man hit me doing at least 35 miles an hour and also I was forward moving even though I was applying my brakes. The car was totaled. Yet not a single warning sound or light or indicator once went off. I also paid extra for the Volkswagen carnet services. Never once did they come over the speaker to ask if I was ok. To tell me I had been in an accident or ask if I needed them to send help. In essence these services failed me completely. I do not understand why I was not included in any of the airbag recalls or settlement information I have heard about. All of the extra features and functions I paid all the extra money to have - every single one failed me when I needed it. This vehicle left me without the protections it promised.

On my recent drive on the 2019 Jetta, I was traveling at a speed of 10-15 miles when all of a sudden the dashboard went blank, including the turn signals, side, and front warning indicators. Though the car continued to be in motion, it was very disturbing to drive without visibility to the dashboard. I had to stop the car in a strip mall and then restart the car at which point the dashboard came on again. This was the second time this happened while the car was in operation. Let me know if other car owners have reported similar issues. I think this is a big safety issue and will get drivers into accidents.

I was in a collision in my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. Upon impact the airbags deployed, however the airbag that deployed from the steering wheel gave me a severe laceration/burn on my forearm in the shape of the Volkswagen emblem. This is problematic, as the function of airbags is to keep you safe, not to provide additional injury.

While traveling on I-40 in van buren, arkansas, I was involved in a hit-and-run accident. The impact caused significant front-end damage and resulted in physical injuries. The vehicle’s dashboard/electrical system indicated airbag:error, and the police report reflects that airbag deployed yet we have photo evidence that the airbag did not deploy. However, photo evidence clearly shows that no airbags deployed for any occupants. The airbags remained completely intact following the crash. The vehicle is a certified pre-owned 2019 Volkswagen Jetta that was still under warranty at the time. This raises serious safety concerns regarding the accuracy of the airbag deployment system and the failure of the airbags to function during a serious collision. When mobile device is placed in passengers seat seatbelt light comes on and air bag is turned off.

The contact owns a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the front passenger side air bag system had erroneously deactivated while a passenger was seated and on other occasions the system activated while no passenger was seated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but the failure could not be duplicated and no problem was found. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 900.
