Air Brake Antilock Control Unit/module Problems of Volkswagen Jetta

The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, she noticed that the abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle then stalled by independently shifting to neutral without warning. The contact had to wait several minutes in order to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis where they advised her that the abs module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 48,500. Kmj.

My 2002 vw Jetta has been sitting at the dealership for almost 30 days waiting for an abs control module. No one at the dealership or vw of America can tell me when the part will be shipped or if it has even been shipped yet. I call every day to find out status, and still no one at this huge corporation has an answer.

Consumer received a recall notice on the abs control unit in March 2002. An appointment could not be made until July 10, 2002. The abs light & brake light illuminated. Consumer was told to continue driving the car until June 25. Consumer took the vehicle to another dealership where they were appalled that under the severity of the abs unit consumer was told to keep driving.
