It seems that my vehicle's clock spring has broken. There is already a warranty issue with this part. However, my local service center cannot get my vehicle in for 5 weeks. How is it acceptable for me to drive a vehicle for 5 weeks without a working airbag and horn?.

The car had an ignition problem. I could not turn the car off using the key. For many years it is had a problem of not always being able to easily start the car with the key. But time time I could not turn the car off without pulling a fuse. Obvious safety issues if a car won't turn off and basically useless vehicle. It had not been inspected by others, but online I found this problem is not uncommon. There where no warning messages of the problem prior to failure. As mentioned before, for years it has been difficult to turn on. First time I could not turn it off.

According to the dealership my car has a broken clock spring switch in the steering wheel. This part is covered under an warranty extension issued in 2018. Without this switch all of the controls located in the steering wheel are inoperative. I have no driver side airbag and no horn, both of which are safety issues. The dealership stated that the parts to fix this problem are on perpetual backorder. The dealership stated they had another car with the same problem that has had parts on backorder for over a year. That seems like a long time to have parts on backorder to fix problems that affect safety. Since the warranty extension was issued back in 2018 you would think that would have parts to fix this problem by now.
Horn stopped working. Then started again and stopped again over period of few days. Currently working.

I noticed my car has been cutting out and not having power when driving down a freeway. Ill put the pedal down it didnt move. I noticed my stereo started kind of flashing as well. I figured maybe it was electrical so I started looking around and I opened up my trunk and it was 4 inches of water where my spare tire is. Then I started looking around where my panoramic sunroof is and there's a huge spots of water that's wet. They did not disclose this to me when I purchase the car and I asked them if there was any problems of leaking. I think it's messing up my electrical system and my power. I felt very unsafe when I wasn't able to accelerate in the middle of traffic.
The moon roof drainage line on the rear drivers side clogged up and significant amounts of water drained into my car. This happened whether I was driving or if the car was sitting in the rain. The water collected in the rear/luggage compartment well on the drivers side. This has the potential to result in mold in the car, which can be dangerous to human respiratory systems. More significantly, every time I got in the car my windshield would fog up, sometimes after a started driving, and I had to pull over to safely continue driving. But until I could drive safely, I was driving with impaired vision. When I took the car in to get fixed (or any time I talked to someone about getting it fixed) everyone had heard of this issue and there was no surprise it was happening. One technician told me "we see about one of these per day during the rainy season. " so this is chronic issue with vws in general if they have a moon roof. I spent $385 to fix this problem.
Car parked at church. Could not insert key into ignition switch. No previous indication of problem. Review of problem on internet and discussion with dealership service agent revealed that this has been a long term problem over many years where a little plastic piece inside the switch gets out of place and blocks key entry. I consider this as a safety issue in an emergency. The cost to replace the switch quoted at about $450 but apparently the same type of switch which has only a 12,000 mile warrantee. Contact with a vw advocate yielded no help with replacement. Given the longevity of this issue, it seems appropriate that the switch be modified to prevent this potential safety issue.
When we move the shifter to d and you are driving the d flashes, sometimes it stops when the brakes are applied and sometimes it flashes.
After driving all day with no problem, I put the car in park and attempted to turn the car off. The ignition would not turn off. I drove a little further and tried again and it would not turn off. I took it to my mechanic and they couldn't get it to turn off either. After many attempts and wd-40, they we able to get the car off. It appears that the issue is the ignition switch. According to the mechanic, there are many issues with this with Volkswagen, yet there is not a recall. The replacement will be about $650. I've already replaced electrical issues involving abs and airbags that were close to $2000. After 2 years of ownership, I'm ready to get rid of this car and never own another Volkswagen.

Key gets stuck in ignition when turning off the engine.
The sunroof leaks on the passenger's side when it rains, causing the car to have flooding on the passenger's side front seat and back.
Rain gutters ineffective causing flooding into the interior of the car. This is an ongoing problem.
Dear sirs; the washington state attorney general advised that I contact you in regards to Volkswagen group of America 2. 0-liter class action settlement my claim made during the recall was accepted then later denied. I now have no incentive to have the car modified to conform with the environmental standards the rest of the car industry must abide by. Also, I had gone through the trouble of buying another car, which I needed for work, in anticipation that Volkswagen would honor the contract they made with me. I believe their ultimate denial of my claim was intentional deception by Volkswagen group and their representatives on the claims committee to avoid paying me the $20,900 they had previously agreed to pay and were in fact required to pay by law, under the class action settlement. I am most likely not the only citizen who was damaged by Volkswagen's deception and fraud in creating a false and misleading deadline for this settlementa settlement which was designed to repay consumers who were affected by Volkswagen's original deception and fraud regarding the emissions on the cars they sold to us. Respectfully yours, andrew mellon 317 32nd Ave seattle, wa 91822 206-909-3474 andrew_mellon@hotmail. Com.
Car is stuttering and has stalled 3 times in the last month, two of which I was driving, the other, while stopped at a light. Brought it to get a diagnostic after the first time it stalled, which was on the highway, the alternator was showing low voltage. Brought it to the shop, showed nothing, alternator was fine. It stalled again while driving in town the second time. The epc flashed 3 times and the check engine light came on a few days ago. Did a diagnostic, the cam shaft sensory code came up. Brought it to the shop, a completely different code came up as well as the cam shaft code. They rest it, hooked it up again and no codes showed up and the check engine light went off. That was two days ago, it stalled again this morning while sitting at a light, no warning lights came on.
Stalling of vehicle while in traffic; epc light will turn on, battery light; replacements have been made with regards to fuel and oil leakage and stalling still occurs.

My 2012 jetta sportswagen tdi is having water freezing in the intercooler causing it to not start or even smoke when started. I had a 14 without this issue my dad has am 04 passat tdi no issue. I did research and on many websites it mentions 10-13 having this issue. The dealership told me there's an after marker part that fixes the freezing issue. This part will cost over 700 dollars. Why was this not recalled when it's happening to many years and the dealership has seen it multiple times.
In late 2016 I received notification of the pending Volkswagen/Audi diesel emissions settlement. About 4 months ago I I went through the verification process and it was determined that: 1-my car is in the buy back group 2-vw will pay it off and 3-vw will give me $800 and some dollars finalizing the transaction I have had this car ready to drop off and waiting for 3 months. I am now 2 payments behind as I was expecting for vw to honor their commitment, but have not heard anything. Volkswagen is apparently not displaying a sense of urgency with the bad faith shown by delaying this process. I am aware that their corporate representative at our local dealer has been apprised of my situation and nothing has happened. Can/will NHTSA compel them to follow up with their agreement. I have had a ;lot of trouble with the local dealer and have filed a bbb complaint on them also regarding this and another issue. Pleas help me. Sincerely, bruce gorsak.
My brakes frequently squeak . Something with the ignition also seems to not be working right when I try turning on my car, it won't start the first time(s) or starting is delayed.
Mil light, and glow plug light start appearing for no apparent reason. Car loses acceleration going up hills and becomes dangerous in traffic. It occurs sporadically. Mil light has been on for 3 plus months. Authorized service garage cannot determine reasons for these lights. Changes a few components. Even after routine 10k service, problem continues.
