The f16 fuse in the engine bay that connects power to multiple exterior lights as well as the abs brake system melts and melts part of the fuse tray. This is the same thing that happens with the vw tiguan in campaign am97. Look into am97 as this can ruin your abs brake system. This should be recalled and fixed. This picture is not mine but is exactly what happened.

Abs module in 2010 vw jetta wagon malfunctioned. Warning lights in dash were lit for abs, brake, and airbag on 5/18/24. Towed to local auto shop by aaa on 5/20/24. Verified by local auto shop as faulty abs module on 5/21/24. Prior year vw jetta wagon (2009) already has recall for this issue. Car is not safe to drive due to brake issue and will not pass state inspection. This VIN / make / model of vw should be added to existing vw abs recall. I have not towed vehicle back to house and do not have the auto shop report yet.

Random unwanted braking action during driving and dangerous steering force to the right side. I had to use both hands and force to keep car on the road on the interstate. No fault codes found vw dealership could not find any problem. They replaced the abs modem to a cost of $2669 but the problem remains. The brakes lock up when just backing up on my driveway too. I have read on the vw forums that a lot of people are having the same problems on 2009, 2012,2013 jetta. I am afraid to take the car on the road and especially on the interstate again!.

Volkswagen knows they have a problem with their abs module but refuse to correct it. This has been going on for years. Codes: 01130 abs operation not a plausible signal. They need to recall!!!.

Per dealer vehicle has non-functioning horn and high-beam headlights apparently due to clock spring failure. In addition, water instruction (of as yet unknown origin) has rusted brake, steering, and dash components. Tdi recall/repair/sale and was last perhaps last sold by and serviced at vw dealer 08/2020.
Not a complaint just curious. Has anyone "fried" their abs module and or replaced one. Where is the best place to get parts? how much was the average cost of repairs?.
Abs, esc indicator lights came on driving at highway speed, and with brake indicator flashing and audible sound. Diagnosed at capistrano vw as failure of abs control module. Repair declined due to $2,500 cost, but the circumstances indicate this should be covered in safety recall 45f2, NHTSA campaign 16v913 (although VIN not indicated as part of recall according to NHTSA records). Will follow up with dealership. Nhtsa should note other similar complaints to cause manufacturer to expand number of affected vehicles. Vw's response appears to be inadequate so far.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen. The contact stated that the anti-lock and abs warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to flow Volkswagen of winston-salem (425 silas creek parkway, winston-salem, nc 27127) where it was diagnosed that the abs module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not covered under a warranty. The failure mileage was 82,000.
Got a notice from creditkarma. Com giving me information on my car make and model being recalled for brake system issues.
Vehicle warning lights came on for abs and airbag while driving. Testing at dealership concluded abs control module, abs hydraulic pumps need replacing at 77,000 miles. Airbag seat pod on passenger side needs replacing at 77,000 miles.
Vw refusing to complete abs module recall because abs module already has fault codes stored. The point of the recall is to repair or replace the faulty abs modules, but in our case, since the module already contains fault codes, the dealership and vw corporate are refusing to perform the safety recall.
Car is serviced at vw dealer every 10,000 miles. At 70,000 miles they tell me my rear side door hinges are rusted and need replacement at my costs. Why would door hinges rust away? when it does rain when I open the rear doors, water does pour our the bottom of door. . Poor german engineering design? 2nd problem: they tell me my emergency/parking brake cable, etc. , is rusted away. Another engineering problem? again I'd have to pay. 3rd problem: at 73,000 miles my rear hatch will not open. Brought it in and they say it's the electronic part that went bad. Engineering? I paid for repair. I bought the car new and it's only 5 years old.
Took vehicle for abs system module recall service. Dealer said abs pump also broken, but was not covered repair under recall. Would cost additional $2320 to fix. As a result, vehicle abs system still not functional. Unsafe.
Nhtsa campaign number: 16v913000 I am filing this complaint in the hope the NHTSA can verify that what vw has indicated is truthful and how a consumer can determine when the recall - NHTSA campaign number: 16v913000 - is applicable vs. Not applicable independent of vw. I contacted vw regarding NHTSA campaign number: 16v913000 abs / electronic stability control and dealer performed software update and test drove vehicle. Dealer and vw customer service both state the recall replacement module is not applicable. Their reason is regardless of the module being faulty with error code 01130 (indicative of brake electronics control module (j104) faulty internet search - vw 01130 code), it does not fail the new diagnostic test because of field value 124 reading vs. field value 125. The NHTSA website states: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will update the abs control module software to improve the module's self-testing abilities. Any module that fails the new diagnostic test will be replaced. These repairs will be made free of charge. I do not understand or agree how both vw and the dealer state the module is faulty (and dealer indicated the module needs to be replaced), yet also indicate the module pass the new diagnostic test. I. E. If it is a faulty module how could it also pass the diagnostic test? unfortunately, vw lost my trust with the dieselgate issue and my vehicle is impacted by this scandal and I am unable to verify vw is being truthful and, it seems to me, a faulty module should not pass any diagnostic test. What is in writing on the NHTSA website and the vw website (and what I have been told) regarding this recall notice seem to have different meanings or understandings. Sincerely and enclosed is scan of dealer's service paper work with personal identification areas blacked out to preserve identities.
The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v913000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electronic stability control) however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer union Volkswagen located at 2155 us-22, union, NJ 07083; phone number: (908) 687-8000 was contacted and informed the contact that the module needed to be replaced before the recall could be repaired. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-822-8987 and was informed that the module could not be updated because there were fault codes. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue and a case number was not provided. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
My brakes frequently squeak . Something with the ignition also seems to not be working right when I try turning on my car, it won't start the first time(s) or starting is delayed.
1) abs/esp lights came on while cruising at highway speeds. 2) diagnosed as an internal electrical failure of the abs hydraulic pump. Abs and esp inoperable. 3) hydraulic pump must be replaced for a shocking $2,800!.
After 40,000 miles of mostly highway driving the inside passenger side brake pad is completely used up while the other 7 have most of the pad remaining. The dealer claims there is nothing wrong with this, they stated that "when the car goes like this, the rear brakes come on" . I have yet to find a shop that I can trust to do the repairs needed.
2010 vw jetta tdi sportswagen. After 30 mile drive, left rear tire/wheel were very hot to the touch, strong odor of "hot brake". Remaining wheels were normal. Parking brake was not engaged, and there was no traffic/stop-n-go.
2009 vw Jetta Sportwagen tdi intermittent hot rear brake discs. Effects mpg by minus 10% plus. Something is causing rear brakes to get hot(rear brake bias). Front brakes are always cool. Could cause an accident in ice and snow possible fire. Sometimes unable to back up!!! like brakes are locked up! it has a mind of its own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! vw of America is not interested ! nor can the dealer solve the problem. " the vehicle meets specifications" this has been written up in vw forums and blogs. We are not the only ones with this problem. How often do you find someone that checks the temp. Of rear and front brake discs? I did because in January of 2009 the rear brakes were so hot that it smelled up my garage. Could have caused a fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
