One problem related to brake disc rotor has been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen New Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At less than 27k miles, I had to replace the brake pads and rotors. The dealer said the rotors for the New Beetle are notoriously thin, and have to be replaced almost as often as the brake pads.
