Two problems related to mechanical jack have been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen New Beetle. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The jack does not properly support the weight of the vehicle causing it to penetrate the ground rather than raise the vehicle possible weak design of material (plastic). Nlm.
Poor design of jack causes force toward the opposite side allowing 2 tires to lift and car to fall off jack. Nlm.
