2001 vw beetle, rear brake calipers locked closed causing excessive heat and dangerous conditions. Vw manufacturer refuses to take responsibility for problem. I believe this is a manufacturer defect. All service and inspections done by vw dealer as required.
Both rear brakes locked up, needed to replace calipers, rotors, drums, pads at 16,455miles.
