1 Steering problem of the 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle

Failure Date: 09/20/2010

Car pulls hard to the left nearly causing a accident on several occasions. . This happens all the time. Sept. 20, 2010 took the 2000 new vw beetle into the vw dealership to have vehicle check out and repaired. This is the list of things they found wrong! 1. Rear axle bushings on both side was broken with one bushing was inside of frame which causes the car to swerve. 2. Frontend alignment needs to be done. 3. Rear emergency brake cable needs to be replace because it causes one rear wheel to drag. We never use the emergency brake since the vw is a automatic. Parts had to be ordered and a later date for repairs.

2 Steering problem of the 2004 Volkswagen New Beetle

Failure Date: 03/29/2005

Bought new 2004 vw beetle in 9/04, 2 weeks later, airbag light came on, took to dealer. They had the car over 8 weeks trying to fix. Finally agreed to replace with identical new one. Less than 2500 miles later, airbag light comes on again. They reset but did not do any repairs. Don't know if that fixed the problem as shortly after, steering went out causing the vehicle to run off road and hit guard rail. Vw has now, waiting to see if they take responsibility, it doesn't appear as they will from what I am hearing from service manager. Final verdict not in yet.
