Two problems related to other fuel system tank assembly have been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen Passat. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Gas gauge sending unit has been replaced once. Malfunctioning again. Shows full tank when more than half empty. Brakes have never worked adequately. Dealer has inspected and says they are "normal". After inspection, worked better for a brief period.
Gas guage indicate there is gas in vehicle. But, vehicle would stop running due to an empty gas tank. Dealer has seen vehicle several times, and cannot find solution.
