Two problems related to power assist hydraulic brake have been reported for the 1999 Volkswagen Passat. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer had to replace brakes every 6000 miles, and she thought this was a problem because for the same reason Volkswagen issued recall 99v131001. But was told that this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.
Recall # 99v131000 vw/brake booster; dealer does not have parts to correct recall. Owner received recall notice on October 6, 1999. Owner has contacted two dealerships. Owner has also contacted the manufacturer about 6 or 7 times, and received no satisfaction.
