Front grill of the vehicle is dented but not damaged. Car works perfectly fine. Just needs slight body work, but other than that, vehicle is operative. It was on highway 91 w near imperial exit and traffic was stop and go. As traffic was picking back up, vehicle in front of me continued to press forward and by the time I hit my breaks, I slightly hit the back of their bumper and dented my grill.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2015

While driving in-city, I experienced sudden intermittent loss of power. My mil indicator started flashing a yellow engine light. After limping the car home (<1mile) my vehicle developed a hammering noise before I turned it off. I took the car to an auto repair shop and they determined the issue was engine sludge. After contacting vw regarding the issue they refused to take any actions. I have fully maintained the vehicle based on manufacturer scheduled service intervals, often more frequently than listed. I did learn there was an active recall for the positive crankcase ventilation system which can directly effect the development of engine sludge. Despite this connection, vw still refused to take any action on the damage to my vehicle.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2014

I'm having concerns with open road Volkswagen of bridgewater NJ in reference to what I believe was negligence on the part of the service department. My car was serviced in June 2014 and then again in October 2014. On October 13tth, I received a call from them stating my transmission was gone and would cost $10,000 to replace. This price is extremely high! after that news, we were told that my car had transmission issues in June when it was serviced, but the open road Volkswagen of bridgewater did not tell us "because they knew I wouldn't pay. " so, instead of telling me in June 2014 when I could have resolved the issue for less than $10,000, they tell me in October when the cost is high. Not to mention I could have had an accident and injured my family or another vehicle. I believe they were negligent in this matter. I wrote a letter to the general manager, mr. Scott gillen and would like you to assist him with resolving this matter.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2014

The catalytic convertor separated from the flange connecting it to the turbocharger. Seems common from what is see on the internet, but no recall has been done.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2014

Driving south on the 57 freeway at approximately 2:45 p. M. With my granddaughter when suddenly for no reason the sunroof popped off onto the freeway, we did not have the sunroof open. We are lucky it did hit anyone and cause an accident. We called Volkswagen of America & was told to take car to a Volkswagen dealer, the dealer determined that it was a manufacturer defect. Spoke with jacob the regional care manager and he said that he could only offer $2000. 00 towards a new car and would not offer anything towards a repair.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2014

Horn and airbag had suddenly stopped working after having the car for only 7 years. Was thinking it might have been a problem with the fuse, but sadly no. Sometimes the horn suddenly bursts to life in short sessions, but only when the vehicle has just turned on, rarely is it heard. Also, the turbo seems to take much longer than usual to reach the next gear, (again, this seldomly only happens when the vehicle has just started).

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2011

There are severe toxic odor's (voc's) coming from the bottom of the carpet insulation of the interior if the car. It is so potent that I have sore throats , heqadaches and feel light headed during and after I drive the 2006 valkswagon Passat. This odor/voc has almost caused me to faint due to the severe alergic reaction I have to it. I have to have all windows open to even drive the automobile. After seacrhing the internet under "volkswagon crayon smell" there are hundreds are similiar complaints about volkswagon cars where they have found the interior sound insulation mat under the carper floor to be the cause. I need my car and I can't drive it like this as it is unsafe for my health and I fear this "crayon odor" could cause me to have a car accident. I have tried to enlist vw America and they state they are not aware of the issue , however, there are hundreds, if not thousand complaints that they have received from this toxic odor that is coming into the passenger cabin of their cars especially the 2006 Passat. This toxic crayon odor is present at all times , it is not dependent on the car running (being on) what so ever. . Please help!!!.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2010

I have a problem with the a/c of my 2006 Volkswagen Passat 2. 0. The technician tells me that basically all the components of my a/c system is damaged and need to be replaced. After I search the internet, a lot of people have been having the same problems since 2007 and it's for models from 2001 to 2007 (as far as I can find now). Please investigate this issue because I believe it's a design problem instead of a wear and tear problem. Hopefully we as consumers can rely on you to help us fight for justice.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2008

While driving on interstate at 65 mph my check engine light and electronic power control light activated due to to the result of a camshaft position sensor activating. The dealer advised there is a defect with an oil pump bolt that throws the camshaft out of position. The vehicle experiences a loss of power and cannot accelerate at a normal rate of speed. The rpm's increase up to 4k but the speed of the vehicle doesn't increase. Instead the rpm's decrease while maintaining the same rate of speed. Per the manufacturer, this is a know issue with the Volkswagen 2006-2007 b6 3. 6 liter Passat. The 2. 0 liter Passat is not affected. Vw is currently replacing the applicable parts under a goodwill warranty since the powertrain warranty expired at 50k miles. . Read more...
